The reason the LTN specific data dropped by so much is because roughly 60% of the "before" data used by Goodman included non serious injuries collated by DfT. Whereas the "after" LTN data only included KSI incidents which were collated by Police who attended in person.

So all this raises a larger question. If 10,000 vehicles are using Stoke Newington Church Street every day, it's because the demand is there to use that street as a main road. When that street becomes shut to through traffic, where will that demand spill over to?

Now you know why we wrote this article back in April. It's too late to convert 25% of London's 9,360 miles of road system into segregated cycling lanes in an effort to replicate Amsterdam. That horse has already bolted. singlefile.org/london-is-abo…

It amazes me some people see all of the LTN experiments across London as having been implemented perfectly, that there are no problems with any of them and anyone who suggests there might issues is just plain wrong. Ideology rarely enables critical thinking & productive challenge

Vast majority of cyclists work at companies which are devastating this planet yet they preach to us that they are saving the planet by cycling. Hypocrites.

‘Stooping low’? I posted a video on 21/01 after the FOURTH time a cab couldn’t take me door-to-door with LTN barriers, leaving me to walk dark streets home alone. Not ONE comment from @lambeth_council etc. Others have commented & agreed. Stop gaslighting our real experiences.

Traffic evaporation is more commonly known as 'frustration theory'. Many cycling advocates look upon every reduction of road space for cars as another win in the great class struggle, but of course it's just nonsense. Frustration theory simply results in angrier drivers.

Do people actually fall for cheap publicity stunts like the Mayor of London posing for a photo op while riding a bike? Well, not if you go by the majority of responses to his Twitter announcement! He's getting smashed! LOL

I recently joined Twitter to get to know the cycling scene in London. I found out something important. There are 2 distinct groups: those who cycle for fun (leisure, racing, social, etc) and those who go out of their way to be increase cyclist/motorist tension by being a prick.

The LTN premise is inherently flawed. If a person can travel directly from Point A to Point B using a neighbourhood street, nobody benefits from forcing that person to now use Points C, D, and E along the way. Except for the residents in that neighbourhood street.

Well of course residents who live on a street which was previously a 'rat run' are going to prefer a street which is now closed at one end. The issue is where has that 'rat run traffic' been shunted to? That's what other 'less fortunate' residents are complaining about.

But that's not a fact however. That's an opinion. Essentially, cyclists are trying to introduce a new arguement into society. Namely, people shouldn't be allowed to drive unless the "justification for doing so" passes a minimum threshold.

Ahhhh.... the Netherlands Myth. If you're a cyclist, everything is better in The Netherlands. Therefore anything which can be construed as an impediment to cycling is the enemy. For many cyclists it's not just a mode of transport, it's actually a religious crusade.
