I don't think you realize how tyrannical 15 minute cities actually is.
In Oxford, they will divide the city into six zones.
Drivers must apply for a permit to be allowed to drive outside their designated zone.
A permit grants a ration of 100 free travel days per year.
If you exceed your driving ration, you will be fined.
The whole idea is to enc people to stay inside their zones and not drive their car much.
Just like the Soviet Union.
Remember - cyclists can't be 'prosecuted' as they clearly aren't responsibke for maiming children they hit, are they?

@AndrewGant3 @lizleffman We were told you'd open up the congestion charge points if there was a major road incident. Traffic not moving for two miles on Cowley Rd. Restaurant bookings cancelled, kids sports clubs called off, doctors appointments missed. Trapped in east Ox.

Sadiq Khan's protégé Mete Coban faked a career at Inter Milan and transfer to Real Madrid, according to The Times.
Now he's London's £150k-per-year Deputy Mayor of the Environment.

Can @JourneysPlaces explain why there is a massive and I mean massive increase on Powys lane post LTN ?
The council were infiltrated by the LCC and they stated the LTN reduced vehicles using this road.
Latest data they produced now show a shocking 53% increase roughly on this road where children live.
Around 4341 extra vehicles passing a school per day.

In Bath recently: Every few footsteps, there were signs telling you not to do stuff, what was banned, more orders. A dustbin lorry came by. "Flytippers. We'll find you and fine you" it said on the side. People are meant to have civic pride in a place that keeps threatening you?

Today, @CamdenCouncil, your scheme failed a frail, elderly woman in a significant way.
She flagged me down at the intersection of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, urgently needing help to pick up her elderly friend at the NatWest bank on Tottenham Court Road.
What should have been a quick one-minute journey along a major thoroughfare turned into a frustrating 16-minute detour.
The reality is that Tottenham Court Road does not prioritise “inclusion.” It is absurd that an accessible means of transport is prohibited from driving along one of London’s main roads.

The former CEO appointed by Cllr Holland was busted for drugs and hit and run. He signed off on LTNs so she made him CEO.
“They weren’t listening to us, they just carried on regardless, so we thought the only thing we could do was expose what they’re up to.”
51 council employees were earning more than £100,000 in the 2024-25 financial year, representing an increase of more than a third, according to the council’s pay policy statement. The council’s gross debt by the end of March 2025 had reached more than £1bn.
“They’ve got loads of money for lawyers and PR people, but not for services,” he says. “They make [things] up as they go along.”
“Their version of ‘regeneration’ would mean none of us would be able to afford to stay here... and their reasons used to justify the [plan] were nonsense. Now they’re starting the whole thing again.”
There’s anger in Lambeth, and it seems it won’t be mollified by a nod from the honours system.

London buses crisis due to soaring costs & 20% fall in passengers. Sadiq Khan spends £1.2bn a yr subsidising buses. Record low bus speeds. Proven link between speed & ridership. Operators pinpoint congested rds. Time for Khan to focus on buses not bikes. standard.co.uk/news/transpor…
Bus speeds are the worst they've ever been due to LTNs, unused cycle lanes and bus stop bypasses as well as decimation of historic bus routes.

.@BBCBreakfast @Heidi_Labour should hang her head in shame along with @simonlightwood @LordPeterHendy @LordBlunkett @Keir_Starmer on the new guidance for floating bus stops. It’s shocking bad and does not address the safety and accessibility of these schemes for blind people.
Message to @Keir_Starmer on the new @activetraveleng guidance on floating bus stops from @newdawn75
‘It’s totally and utterly terrible’.
Please withdraw this utter shambles of guidance and align the Bus Services Act 2025 it with @BSI_UK British Standard BS 8300-1:2018 Section.
