There's an ongoing effort to suppress the social injustice of LTNs.
To counter this, just look at LTNs in Enfield.
Starting point: 2021 census (disdadvantage, ethnicity, car ownership) & TfL crashmap data.
Guess where have Enfield Council deemed priority areas for LTNs? (1)

Yet, they won't succeed.
We won't be silent on this injustice

Our connections across this platform saw the reality of #LTNs since day one. They thought people would get bored of raising concerns but around the country peoples voices continue to get louder and repeat concerns until they are heard.
We won't stop until every #LTN is removed.

Why are supporters of LTNs seeking shelter behind established measures such as cycle lanes & 20mph? @TransPlanSoc @BenGoldsmith @SelaineSaxby @RuthCadbury
Only a review of LTNs is confirmed, and with good reason. They damage bus services & increase car ownership/mileage driven.

ALT A description of the letter from transport planners which seeks to link LTNs to other measures that (unlike LTNs) are regularly proven to introduce benefits without qualification or impact. Arguably putting some non-LTN schemes at risk, simply because LTNs themselves are too weak to make their own case.

Oh dear the #LTN -pushing middle class lycra males are getting upset that they aren't getting everything their own way. They simply cannot believe it!

We're non-party political but any Government would be right to review LTNs, especially those rushed in in recent yrs. Put in with little homework done re: impacts on disabled people, on traffic levels on surrounding rds or how whose livelihoods depend on vehicles may be affected.

Oh yes - all part of the same sordid little self-serving circuit. See him here posing with Waltham Forest mafia boss Loakes, @lambeth_council fascist dictator Holland, classist dimwith EX Cllr Burke and pseudo-academic LCC Aldred.

This is how stupid these eco terrorists are. She pours oil on the road and then slips in it.
And we are suppose to trust these people that they understand the science and what is happening to our planet?

This behaviour by your employee is utterly shameful @LSHTM @ucl
This is the person, working with Rachel Aldred' #ActiveTravel academy, to push #LTN propaganda, has been appointed by @transportgovuk to 'review' LTNs @Mark_J_Harper
Really?
Is this how @lb_southwark and @lambeth_council ensure their #LTN consultations are 'fair'. Despite this disgusting NIMBY behaviour from a spoilt rich cycle lobby brat, the majority of residents voted AGAINST discriminatory #LTNs.

Dr Anna Goodman, one of the biggest LTN advocates and adored by the pro- LTN lobby, is caught tearing down a poster advertising a petition against the LTNs in West Dulwich.
Is this a person who should be be trusted to present unbiased reports on LTNs?

Its very significant as:
1. She has worked with Rachel Aldred to push the LTN narrative UK wide.
2. Aldred et al were 'appointed' by @transportgovuk to 'review' LTNs following a national petition, but this proves she is not impartial.
3. She was used as an 'expert' witness on 'transport' and 'LTNs' by Lambeth council in a case against a disabled resident.
4. She lives in a multi milliom pound house within Dulwich LTN forced in by @lb_southwark and aggressively campaigned for it with the help of the LCC.
5. She is paid with taxpayers' money in her job at the @LSHTM but has no apparent integrity making her appointment questionable.

These roads were not (never) included in the study by pseudo-academic Rachel Aldred or monitored by councils. Funny that @Mark_J_Harper @transportgovuk
What does Gilligan's cycle lobby @TfL have to say?
So, public health advice in today’s High Pollution Alert is to avoid busy roads! What about those living, working, waiting for buses, shopping, going to school on roads made busier by neighbouring LTNs? How do they reduce their risks @MayorofLondon @NHSEngland @NHSEnglandLDN ?

This suggests @RachelAldred and her team have many questions to answer. Why do they keep silent?
BREAKING NEWS:
Aldred and colleagues claim #LTNs reduce vehicle mileage but the figures show that they a increase vehicle mileage.
@Mark_J_Harper @transportgovuk why is the DfT funding such poor quality research?
findingspress.org/article/75…
In her latest study Aldred et al. claim that #LTNs reduce miles driven by monitoring residents with parking permits and the mileage recorded on their MOTs between March 2020 and March 2023.
Aldred et al. selected a sample set of 4% of all Lambeth registered vehicles ONLY from people who have resident parking permits for cars or vans. The paper shows heavy SELECTION BIAS as it excluded huge numbers for a variety of reasons e.g.
- drove too many miles
- don't live in a CPZ
- recorded mileage is not deemed acceptable
- did not have 'regular' MOTs
They failed to address significant CONFOUNDING FACTORS including the significant number of people working from home (4-52%), the impact of the planned ULEZ extension, the impact of School Streets, or other financial constraints.
Instead she claimed her 'results' were solely due to #Lambeth LTNs without addressing any other impacts.
Worse still her own calculations are wrong.
Aldred et al. state that people are driving 700 metres less a day inside their LTN - presumably as they can't drive out through their LTN other than the single access point they now have which is near to a their nearest boundary road - not rocket science.
Aldred et al. then state that those people are driving 300 metres MORE per day near their LTN and 600 metres MORE per day in the control area which they defined to encompass the Lambeth LTNs so that is 900 metres MORE driving per day: Therefore
-700m + 300m + 600m = +200m
So Lambeth LTNs cause an INCREASE in driving of her heavily biased 4% sample of drivers.
Conclusions:
1. LTNs INCREASE vehicle mileage
2. Aldred's studied are heavily biased and flawed. They are poor quality and this cycle lobby member should not longer receive taxpayer funding.
3. Covid era LTNs should be ripped out based on this data.
