Replying to @richardosefton
When he voted for Brexit he should have realised we'd leave the Dublin agreement and that Europeans using Freedom of Movement to come over for short-term work would be replaced by permanent immigrants from the Commonwealth. I've seen some hats for sale that would suit him better!

🧵 Let's not mince words. A handful of selfish sociopathic billionaires and the populist politicians and media they fund have deliberately divided and radicalised millions of people across the world, solely to protect their wealth and power.

If both Labour and The Lib Dems were to announce they are adopting a rejoin the EU policy, they would form the next Government, as a Coalition.
Starmer's problems stem from trying to appease groups who were never going to be appeased.

As of today 154 UK Councils are led by Labour, 12 led by Reform. Can anyone at the BBC or Sky or the UK media generally explain the support, coverage and platforming of this shoddy little Reform. Why do you do it?

🔘 ALT MUSIC NIGHT FEATURE — MAY 1979 The Undertones — Self-Titled Debut Sharp hooks, restless energy — punk urgency meeting pure pop instinct. “Here Comes The Summer” set it off. 🎧 Turn it up youtu.be/kUg7OO1gZk0 👉 Deeper Facts ↓ Dropped in May ’79, this wasn’t built to linger — it hit fast, tight, and straight to the point. No excess, no drift… just pure, youthful charge locked into every track. “Jimmy Jimmy” pushed them into the charts, but it was “Here Comes The Summer” that sealed the deal — short, sharp, and impossible to shake once it landed. What set it apart wasn’t weight — it was instinct. Fast songs, clean hooks, and that unmistakable lift that carried it beyond the punk circuit and into something wider. Under half an hour, nothing wasted — just momentum from start to finish. #TheUndertones #HereComesTheSummer #PunkRock #PowerPop #AltMusic #70sMusic #NewWave #FORKSTER @Stow6524 @clairywairy88 @lee0969 @Fred_Baliad2 @NewWaveAndPunk @TraceMess_469 @Albums200 @ITHERETWEETER1 @Wrix2 @FromTheWoods79 @Motobec810 @wthballs

Please repost if you want the full restoration of our EU Freedom of Movement, which was stolen from us by the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history. This is the debate that we have to win if the UK is to rejoin the Single Market or the EU. In 2016 the Remain campaign did not defend our Freedom of Movement because its spineless leaders were frightened of the right-wing press. Our freedom was removed without a debate. The wave of migration from Eastern Europe is a thing of the past. Thanks to EU membership, Eastern European countries have greatly reduced the economic gap with the UK. The immigration hysteria of 2016 was a panic about a migration surge that was soon going to end, but the wretched Remain leadership failed to make that point.

The bandwidth sucked up by the Mandelson non-story is embarrassing. A minor appointment taken in what was perceived to be the national interest. Astonishing that the Westminster bubble is still obsessed but then tittle tattle started to define British politics a long time ago

If you voted Conservative between 2010 and 2024, then you don't really have a right to complain about the sluggish growth, the gutting of our armed forces, the ballooning welfare bill, the shit in our rivers and sea, or the open borders.

4/ The thing is, my lecture was about exactly this. About institutions bending the knee to power while telling themselves they had no choice.

Despite the negativity from those seeking to talk down London for political gain, London is thriving, and here’s the proof: we’ve just been awarded the highly prestigious Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize.
