President Isaias was in Moscow for the Russia-Africa Summit. In an interview with Sputnik, he made it abundantly clear he was โ€œnot coming from the vantage point of Eritrea and Eritrean interests because it has nothing to do with the reality on the ground.โ€ One is at a loss what to make of such a statement coming, as it does, from a leader of an impoverished nation that spends most of its meager resources more to bankroll destabilizing campaigns throughout the region than in building badly needed clinics or schools. Far from pursuing bilateral relations that could perhaps help improve the plight of his people, he has made it perfectly clear he is more interested in โ€˜righting the wrongsโ€™ in the global financial system including addressing the containment policy against Russia than in taking care of bread and butter issues of the people of Eritrea. In light of President Isaiasโ€™ proclivities to punching above his weight, such grandstanding is not entirely out of character. Whatโ€™s so striking about his remarks in Moscow, however, his dismissal of the relevance of individual countriesโ€™ cases including that of Eritrea as agenda in the summit in Moscow called exactly to address Russiaโ€™s relations with African countries. Many on social media were commenting on President Isaiasโ€™ dejected look, with his hands loosely hanging by his waist, and looking confused and out of place. Indeed, for a casual observer, the Eritrean president cut a sad figure throughout the summit and appeared to have difficulty fitting in the hustle bustle in Moscow. But thatโ€™s beside the point. The bottomline is President Isaias didnโ€™t hold any bilats, didnโ€™t address the gathering nor proffer his unsolicited views on global order to the Summit. He was just too bored to broach such silly subjects as Russo-Eritrean relations or Russo-African relations. If anything, this is yet another admission by the Eritrean President for life that when it comes to his priorities as a leader it is the unfairness in the global order, not Eritreaโ€™s national interest, that comes front and center. After all, Eritrea has always been too small a project for a president whose imperial overreach knows no boundaries.

Ethiopia acquired Su-35s. Same fighter jets Egypt was supposed to acquire few years ago, but the U.S. refused, to "protect" Israel's superiority in the region.

We are pleased to announce that teenager Abraham Aklile who was forcibly conscripted into the TPLF, sent to Sudan, and captured by the RSF, has been released and is currently safe in Asosa. We are grateful to his captors for their mercy. May God guide the youth toward #Peace!๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
We are asking the Rapid Support Forces #RSF for the release of teenager forcibly conscripted by TPLF, then forcibly sent to fight in Sudan. This is what TPLF did to Tigrayโ€™s youth, used them as disposable fighters for someone elseโ€™s war. This is the true color of TPLF. Sad! ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Eritrea told the world its soldiers never entered Tigray. Today the people of Adigrat answered. AFP went to Adigrat, 40 km from the border, and talked to the people who live there. "When I saw Eritrean soldiers entering our area two weeks ago, I was shocked and angry. They have now left, and I hope they never return." (Haymanot, 33) "Seeing the Eritrean army here is like seeing the devil." (Elias, 36) These are not Ethiopian officials. They are not activists in Addis. They are ordinary people in Tigray who saw the trucks with their own eyes. AFP also reports: - burnt-out trucks still lie in the roads of Adigrat - a foreign security source says Eritrea sent thousands of troops into northern Tigray - some Eritrean soldiers are still in Zalambessa, on the Ethiopian side of the border So my question is simple. If there was no incursion, who are the soldiers in Zalambessa? On Oct 14 the US said every country in the Horn must avoid cross-border incursions. That rule protects Eritrea. It protects Ethiopia too. Meanwhile in Mekelle, shops and markets are opening again. People want normal life, not another war. Tigray does not need foreign soldiers. It needs police back on the streets, schools open, and food and aid moving. My problem is not with the Eritrean people. It is with a government in Asmara that sends its army into our towns and then calls it a lie. Withdraw from Zalambessa. Talk. Let our people rebuild. #Ethiopia #Tigray #Adigrat #EthiopiaPrevails thestandard.com.hk/world/artโ€ฆ

For years, Egypt has relied on proxy conflicts and regional divisions to protect its interests, with countries such as Eritrea and Somalia playing important roles in its regional strategy. These tactics may have worked in the past, but the world has changed. Using Sudan and Eritrea as battlegrounds for regional rivalries will only create more instability and destroy trust between African nations. Egypt cannot continue acting as if it has the authority to pressure other African countries into accepting its demands. African nations want independence, respect, and the freedom to determine their own futures. President al-Sisi must understand that the best way to protect Egyptโ€™s long-term interests is through cooperation, not confrontation. Ethiopia and Egypt need a fair agreement that protects the interests of both nations, especially regarding the Blue Nile. Egypt must recognize Ethiopiaโ€™s right to develop its resources while Ethiopia also recognizes the importance of water security for Egypt and Sudan. No country should expect historical claims alone to give it unlimited control over a shared river. The solution must be based on negotiation, mutual respect, equitable use, and regional cooperation. Africa has suffered from conflict and division for far too long. It is time for African leaders to abandon old rivalries and focus on peace, economic development, and shared prosperity.
