In too many countries women cannot confer nationality to their children, a discrimination that can cause statelessness and must be eliminated. I was glad to open the global summit on gender equality in nationality laws today in Geneva. Everybody must be able to say #iBelong.
I agree with @GabrielDolan1 that "the country cannot move on while thousands of survivors from past violence still mourn and suffer in
silence and shame." True in many places - major hurdle to 'sustainable development'. Thx @Grace_Agenda & @glsurvivorsfund for upcoming report.
