Congrats to Samuel, Ben, Alex and the @pipeopshq team! It took us @dfsventures some time to find a cybersecurity team we felt had truly grasped the fundamental shift that has occurred in the last 18 months. Even during our discussions with the team, we saw the OAI-HuggingFace incident rattle the industry alongside the proliferation of 0day attacks. Cyber vulnerability is at an all-time high and clients require proactive, AI-native solutions. Like much in the Global South, this shift puts pressure on critical infra buildout. There will be no renewed industrialization without digital safety. And that digital safety simply cannot be imported. We believe @pipeopshq is a team that's evolved into one who's commitment to protecting Africa's digital domain had pushed them to the frontier of what's needed on the continent and beyond. We are thrilled to see our portfolio company @terraindustries leaning into the same mission alongside longtime co-investors. We back founders chasing previously unimaginable ambition who are willing to face the hard questions head-on. Excited for this team. techcabal.com/2026/09/18/ter…

Building resilient infrastructure means investing in our own builders. Proud to join @terraindustries through @R17_Ventures to invest in the Aeon team as they scale sovereign cyber defense across the continent. With cyberattacks costing Africa over $3 billion, scaling a combined digital and physical security platform across the Global South is a necessity. Africa supporting Africa is how we secure the next frontier of growth. xitter.cf/terraindustries/status…

The investment follows a successful pilot earlier this year. @TechProd_Arch, Flutterwave CEO, also joined the round through his fund, @R17_Ventures. The two companies have now formed a commercial joint venture to deploy Aeon's technology for Terra's government and corporate clients across the Global South.

Yes. Rexec terminals are fully contained Docker containers. When the session ends, or if you stop or delete it, the container is forcibly removed, which causes daemonized processes in the shell’s process group to exit as well.

I’ll be speaking at SysConf 2026 on “How to Safely Give AI Agents a Terminal.” Giving an agent a shell is useful. Giving it your machine is not. In this talk, I’ll walk through isolation, lifecycle, network control, and resource limits for disposable Linux terminals- lessons learned from building Rexec. Rexec: github.com/PipeOpsHQ/rexec Oct 2–3, virtual: events.ringcentral.com/event…
We’re excited to announce Alex Idowu (@nitrocode) as a speaker at SysConf 2026! His talk is titled “How to Safely Give AI Agents a Terminal.” AI coding agents that execute commands as part of their workflows have become quite common today; however, most of them are still set up with unfettered shell access to a computer (laptop, bastion, shared runner etc.). This talk examines how to address this risk by reframing it as an isolation and lifecycle technical problem. Alex will draw lessons from his experience building Rexec, an open-source platform that provides disposable network-isolated Linux terminals in the cloud or lets you connect your own machines.
