Democracy is worth defending. At Halifax I sat on a panel with General Jennie Carignan, Garry Kasparov and Hanna Hopko and argued democracies must turn intent into action: raise defence spending, widen joint exercises and intelligence-sharing, and boost cyber resilience. (1/2)

In my latest op-ed, I argue against two widespread beliefs on Russia that can have devestating effects on European security.
Russia is not a local problem and inaction does not lead to peace. Europe must wake up and face Russia as a systemic threat.
