Excited to share our work on genome editing for SMA in @ScienceMagazine! We evaluated dozens of strategies targeting SMN2 regulatory sequences to rescue SMN levels, and show that one-time in vivo co-administration of our top strategy with nusinersen extends lifespan of SMA mice.
Today we report in @ScienceMagazine a one-time base editing treatment for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), the leading genetic cause of infant mortality worldwide, affecting ~1 in 10,000 births. science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…
