Trying out Herdr has got me even more excited to try out @superlogical’s Rex. While I like a lot of the features of Rex the UX is hurt by it being purely a TUI. It reimplements tabs and splits but with more awkward key bindings and you lose per split-font-sizes

No joke @superlogical updates are what keep me coming back to Twitter

I’ve been toying with @odinlang to make a little game engine. I’m still getting my bearings, but really enjoying how some of the syntax for type-based control flows My first attempt with a switch felt overly verbose but the second (which I don’t know the name of) is super clean

I suspect @superlogical will solve this problem

I have been playing with using @opencode as a mentor. I’m a web dev learning to make games with @odinlang so I’m pretty out of my depths. New language, new architectures, unfamiliar api, etc. But I’m here to learn, not be productive.

My AGENT.md instructs OpenCode to NEVER write to my repo or even give me code snippets as suggestions. Instead, it asks Socratic questions and offers keywords to look up in the Odin docs.

It’s a great feeling. I’m still saving a ton of time looking things up and getting suggestions on where to go next, but I’m getting actual reps in writing the code, thinking about the design, etc.

I’ve called four times, been hung up on once, transferred departments several times only to tell me that it’s not covered. Looks like insurance shopping starts early this year…

@joemasilotti I have a Rails app that let's users upload large videos (1 hour / 3GB). It works fine on a Desktop browser, but on mobile it's super flaky. Half the time, after selecting the video on the media picker, the process is cancelled randomly or when the screen dims.

I was hoping Turbo Native would let me make a Native file upload that works more consistently. Watching your RailsWorld talk I just heard you say that file upload in native is hard and we can just use web. Are my hopes of a smooth upload experience from mobile devices futile?

This entire thread is why programmers should take a design course or two. APIs are UIs The same design principles that apply to building a good onboarding form apply to building a good API.
You’re missing the point here. This entire conversation is about why it’s surprising that the API is confusing. It’s confusing because it breaks the conventional definition of the word “in” when applied to lists.

Smart people often write the worst code because they're more comfortable with complexity and have larger working memory. I've encountered this so many times in my career Don't write ✍️ code for the smart people. Assume the person looking at it cannot fit complexity in their head
