Such an important point by @washingtonpost Philip Rucker on MSNBC: the appearance of unity at the RNC is because all the anti-MAGA elements have been purged. Do we forget why Trump needed a new VP? There’s no Mitt Romney. No Liz Cheney. No Michael Steele. Those reporting on the veneer of unity should be constantly noting this.

Y’all out here acting like Trump is Mandela. Cut it out. Everytime a person of color is over charged or sentenced harshly or shot in the back by police….yall ask silly questions like why did he run? Trump broke the law. 12 peers held him accountable. How you like them apples.

Worth noting: 2 of the 3 Justices that’s didn’t want to place the abortion amendment on the ballot (Francis, Sasso) are up for retention vote this November. I know which way I’ll be voting…🗳️❌ – at Florida, USA
Replying to @apantazi
The abortion referendum passed by a 4 to 3 vote. (Canady, Labarga, Couriel & Muniz voted to allow the referendum on the ballot; Grosshans, Sasso & Francis voted against.) Cannabis was 5 to 2 (Canady, Labarga, Couriel, Muniz & Grosshans in favor; Sasso & Francis against).

BOOM! "If some City Council members want to continue litigating the Civil War for their perceived political gain, that is their choice," @MayorDeegan said in a statement Tuesday.

Firestorm Books in Asheville, North Carolina, took charge of 22,500 books. These books were removed from the ⁦@DuvalSchools⁩ system in Florida. Their mission is to return these books to the community where they originated i.e. Florida. goodereader.com/blog/comment…

It was NEVER about ‘protecting children’— it was ALWAYS about the bigotry.

Column | The Florida Legislature is full of hayseeds like Dean Black. If this latest clumsy effort to preempt @MayorDeegan’s promise to take down a Confederate monument fails, another will come right behind it. Take it down now, before it’s too late. jacksonville.com/story/news/…

We appreciate the incredible speakers and performers who worked for months to deliver on stage this weekend at TEDxJacksonville 2023 Human/Nature. The conference presented sensational talks and performances — and the event would not have been possible without our generous partners, our hard-working volunteers, and the hundreds of attendees who valued a day devoted to ideas, connections, solutions, and action. #TEDxJAX

What a productive day in Washington, D.C. We had lots of promising conversations about federal grants to bring home to Jacksonville, and it was an honor to be part of the @WhiteHouse Office of Gun Violence Prevention announcement. Collaboration is how we solve our challenges.

When citizens protested George Floyd's murder, their brutal arrests led to a civil-rights settlement but no apology. When Nazis protested the existence of Jews, JSO thanked them & apologized for any inconvenience. Is it any wonder why hate festers in Jax? jacksonville.com/story/news/…

A racist bigot walked into a store to murder Black people. A racist bigot felt comfortable enough to walk into a store to murder Black people. The far-right fascist movement, embraced by Gov @RonDeSantis, is murdering people. cnn.com/2023/08/26/us/jackso…

This is the very reason why @NAACP said that Florida is not safe for Black people — because it's not!

34 percent of Harvard students are white. 43 percent of those students are either legacies, children of faculty, kin of donors or a recruited athlete. 75 percent of them would not have gotten in if not for special status (National Bureau of Economic Research). But when in doubt, blame the Black people!

Anything on the white supremacists/Nazis? Or do you welcome them?
I’m warning socialists and communists not to travel to Florida. They are not welcome in the Sunshine State.

I would be damned if I passed away and a city council member spoke at my vigil to only then say nothing from the from their Council seat. Pretending like this Jacksonville leader who spoke at the United Nations didn't exist is wild to me.
