Yes you are reading the below message correctly. The same Hope Florida (scandal that stole $10M from kids) also diverted workers from real programs which made those programs less accessible and reliable, harming more people.
This is the DeSantis legacy.

Three years on the run from Atlanta. It ended in Jacksonville.
On Wednesday, we brought a multi-state manhunt to a close after our team tracked 43-year-old murder suspect Jonathan Soto to an apartment complex on Gate Parkway.
Our SWAT team, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and @Atlanta_Police, with the help from our Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit, surrounded the apartment Soto was hiding in. He refused to come out, so we used an energetic charge to open the door.
He knew his time on the go was up and he surrendered on a fugitive warrant for murder and possession of a firearm.
Soto is the suspect in the February 2023 murder of a popular business owner at the Republic Lounge in Atlanta. He was on the Atlanta Police Department’s most wanted list and was considered armed and dangerous.
We’ll keep working with our law enforcement partners to make sure justice is served. Fugitives may try to run, but we’re here to stop them. Soto will now have to face the consequences for what he did in Georgia.
