dlib 19.19 is out. See dlib.net/release_notes.html for details. One cool thing is the global optimizer find_min_global() is now nice and speedy for a wider class of functions. It still works as described here blog.dlib.net/2017/12/a-glob… but now autotunes itself to the objective function.

Some quick thoughts on new Intel Lidar: Price of $349 is very compelling. It's described as a "Lidar Camera", but it's essentially a solid-state Lidar. It returns 23m pixels points/sec in a 70°x55° cone with 9m range. That's very high def I'm impressed intelrealsense.com/lidar-cam…
