Yesterday I gave a Deep Dive session on my Cppyy_kit (awesomebytes.github.io/cppyy…) project at #ROSCONUK . It was a great fun session where we spent a while going beyond the topic and we discussed what the future of software, libraries and frameworks may look like now with AI
Today's robots are too unreliable and slow for real industrial work. Reinforcement learning changes that.
Meet KinetIQ Ascend: our robots practice real production tasks and improve predictably towards industrial reliability standards.
How it works 🧵
I gave a lightning talk in #ROSCON 2025 showing a cool shebang trick to use #pixi and Cppyy to run self contained python scripts that call C++ code. Find the examples in that I called Pixibang:

The only reason vibe coding exists and works (up to where it works) is thanks to the high quality (and quantity!) open source projects in the world. Just a little reminder to love open source (and if you can give back or contribute) :)
I made a thingo, frustrated by downloading images and being in webp format which can't be processed by a lot of programs, I made a little JS client-side image converter (to/from WEBP/JPG/PNG). Maybe someone else finds it useful awesomebytes.github.io/webp_…

The new Figure 02 robot looks super cool (interesting neck cloth cover), but it still has the typical ZMP (Zero Mess in my Pants) walk. I had high hopes for a more dynamic cool looking walk!
Very complex hands also.
@facontidavide any expert comment?
Sad to see Foxglove stopping their Open Sourcing. I understand, but I had hope on their technical approach and the community it was building (even though I still use Rviz for many visualization duties), becoming the default visualizer for a lot of people. foxglove.dev/blog/foxglove-2…

Awaiting for @facontidavide to be awake to maybe see my PRs (github.com/facontidavide/Plo…) for #PlotJuggler to allow starting it skipping dialogs and plot live straightaway from the command line or a launchfile. Sorry for the hack!
