So proud to see this incredible and super fun story officially out! Congrats @EckerChem and @AndreasLangen5!!!!
It’s finally out now in @ACSCentSci and better than ever!

Is arginine the next frontier in covalent chemistry? We think so! Check out our latest work in collaboration with @IanSeiple where we utilize ninhydrin as a selective warhead and probe for reactive arginines!
You are what you eat! We leveraged chemical proteomics to discover that macrophages redeploy intact surface proteins made by their cancer cell meals during phagocytosis. These proteins are functional, and redeployment may explain the etiology of the TAM. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
Thanks to our @UCSF team of scientists and surgeons (some both!) lead by @ZaroLab student @ReganVolk with help from: @BaharZirak @TomPolli1 @Maker_MD @vram142 @genophoria and others not on this dying platform.
So excited to share this story with the world! A mimic of the mammalian ‘don’t eat me’ signal CD47 encoded by a pathogen!
How thrilling to see this online after 8 years in the works!!!
We showed that #Lyme bacteria
mimic our own“don’t eat me” signal with their P66 protein to hide in plain sight!!! This tricks our SIRPa protein to trigger the breaks on immune clearance!

Check out this new preprint/white paper from our friends at Entwine bio together with @vram142 and @ZaroLab. We and others have long been interested in sequence-to-function modeling in RNA, especially as it comes to splicing. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

🚨It's live! Check out the ACS Chem Biol special issue highlighting the rich living history of click & bioorthogonal chemistries from the pages of the journal, to celebrate the 2022 Nobel Prize to @CarolynBertozzi, Barry Sharpless, & Morten Meldal! 🎉 pubs.acs.org/page/acbcct/vi/… 1/n
The @UCSF Mission Bay Innate Immunity Working Group now has a website! Keep updated on future meetings and access available immunology resources. If you’re interested in presenting, reach out to @ZaroLab or @DrEmilyGoldberg 🧪

Excited to see this awesome resource by @annesapiro out on biorxiv. Thanks for letting us be a part of this project.
Curious how the Lyme pathogen changes as it moves through ticks during bloodmeal transmission? Us too - and it took a lot of blood sweat and tears (and ticks) for @annesapiro to crack this one. Let us know if you need help navigating our data! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

We are thrilled to be a part of this incredible project. Thank you for the opportunity, @ElectrosomeUCSF!
Channel:chaperone cryoEM structure. Super talented team Zhou, Abhisek, &Fayal with @ZaroLab. EMC twists, turns, and extracts a pore domain.

Congrats @hitenmadhani @EricVDang1!! Thanks for letting us be a part of this fabulous project!

First pre-print from the macrophage side of the lab! Way more to come, but we are stoked to start sharing our work with the community! Congrats @ReganVolk @Chemystified Sara and Kate!
I am happy to share the latest paper out of the Zaro lab and the first of my first author publications, “Proteomic Characterization of Phagocytic Primary Human Monocyte-Derived Macrophages” now available on @ChemRxiv chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxiv…
Proud to share our lab’s first preprint @ucsf! This project started as a small rotation project and quickly turned into something to super exciting!
Thrilled to share that the Zaro Lab's first ever preprint is now LIVE on @ChemRxiv 🧪 We developed a new, highly-selective (like, *really* selective) covalent inhibitor of BTK through the simple elaboration of fumarate ester-based warheads (1/n): chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxiv…
Special thanks to @BeckmanFnd for funding and @FujimoriLabUCSF @MattRPratt for feedback on the manuscript!

Hey scientists - @UCSF is hiring - remember you don’t need a CSN paper or a K. We are looking for fresh ideas, curiosity, and desire to work in a public university with an awesome academic research community. Pls RT 👇
Thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a BYI for our work involving bacterial mimicry of mammalian ‘don’t eat me’ signals! Congrats to an impressive list of other awardees across the country! Proud to join the ranks of other BYIs @UCSF!
Congratulations to the 2021 Beckman Young Investigator Awardees! Read the full announcement: ow.ly/karw50F23Gr

Is chemistry authorship gender-balanced? @adamcotton92 wrote a web scraper to mine PubMed for authors' names and countries, cross-referenced with a gender API for 15 journals in the last 16 years. We just put this work on @biorxivpreprint. Thread 1/
