The amount of mini-adult training programs on social media is astounding... Just an FYI: Kids have little desire to do: planks split squats weighted carries They literally have the rest of their lives to exercise. The pre-adolescent years should be dedicated to developing agility, balance, coordination, and body awareness in a dynamic and engaging environment. It's important that children have positive movement experiences early in life so that have a desire to continue to move as they get older. #LTAD

Check out our latest review on the use of Blood flow restriction (BFR) for recovery in collaboration with colleagues at @ussoccer. In the realm of sports science, the pursuit of effective post-exercise recovery strategies remains a central focus. Recently, attention has turned to BFR as a potential method for enhancing recovery among athletes. The review aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of experimental studies investigating the impact of BFR on recovery following exercise. Here's a snapshot of the key findings and implications: Limited Research Scope: Among the studies reviewed, only 11 investigated BFR specifically as a post-exercise recovery strategy. The dearth of research, particularly in the context of team and individual sports (with a notable gap in studies involving female populations), underscores the need for further exploration in diverse athletic domains. Methodological Challenges: While the reviewed studies displayed a range of quality, methodological limitations were apparent. Many interventions were conducted after fatiguing protocols or fitness tests, potentially failing to replicate real-world exercise scenarios accurately. This disconnect raises questions about the generalizability of findings to practical athletic contexts, such as team sports like rugby or soccer. Protocol Variability: One of the striking observations was the lack of consistency in BFR protocols across studies. Varying parameters, including the number of cycles, pressures applied and the duration of occlusion-reperfusion periods, complicate efforts to draw conclusive insights about BFR's efficacy as a recovery strategy. Mixed Findings: The review revealed a divergence of outcomes among studies, with some demonstrating positive effects of BFR on post-exercise recovery, while others reported no discernible benefits or even potential drawbacks compared to control groups. Such inconsistencies highlight the complexity of BFR's physiological mechanisms and underscore the importance of nuanced interpretation. In conclusion, while BFR holds promise as a post-exercise recovery modality, caution is warranted in its application. Practitioners should critically evaluate the available evidence and consider contextual factors such as sport-specific demands and individual athlete characteristics before integrating BFR into recovery protocols. 5 questions, as relates to asymmetry: 1⃣ how much asymmetry is there? 2⃣ what is an 'acceptable' level of asymmetry? 3⃣ what information do we need to make this determination? 4⃣ what is the source of the asymmetry? 5⃣ how do we go about affecting it? @ALTIS @Motion_IQ
