Happy to see our story on tolerance to inflammation antigens @NatImmunol nature.com/articles/s41590-0… It grew from a naive question I had at my first immunology class: if some self molecules are only induced by pathogen how does immune system distinguish them from foreign antigens?1/n

Our paper is now out! Cell damage regulates expression of lipid-modifying enzymes via alternative transcription. @SARSCoV2 exploits this to boost Spike #acylation #palmitoylation and generate more infectious #virions! @FS_Mesquita @AbramiLaurence nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Interestingly, their lytic potential is higher on the 3rd/4th day rather than after a 14-day expansion which corresponds with the granzyme B expression peak.

An important limitation for serial killing is the low amount of perforin available and the lack of synergy between granzyme B and perforin. The γδ T cells that generated higher co-occurrence of granzyme B with perforin in the lytic vesicles correlated with longer killing series.

We are desperately looking for IL17RA-/- mice in Europe for a really cool gdT cell project. Would anyone know who might have them?

My friend @DelemotteLab is preparing for a class on data-driven life sciences. The main aim is to teach how to read quantitative biology. Do you have a suggestion where large datasets are analyzed using some modeling/machine learning. A plus if the data/code is openly accessible

Our lab's new paper (rdcu.be/cCL0H) is now out at @NatBME. We discovered that cancer cells lower their cortical stiffness, which impedes T cell-mediated cytotoxicity by decreasing T cell force at the immune synapse (doi.org/10.1038/s41551-021-0…) (1/)
