Bakom varje rop finns ett folk som längtar efter frihet.

25 Years of silence, justice can cannot wait.
For more than two decades, #Eritrea|ns have been imprisoned, disappeared, and held without charge or trial.
Families have been denied answers. The government has refused transparency. The world must not look away.
Where are the prisoners? Are they alive? Where are the answers?
Release all political prisoners. End enforced disappearances. Accountability cannot wait.

THEY WERE NOT JUST NAMES.
They were fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, colleagues, writers, journalists, ministers and public servants.
Among those detained were Dawit Isaak, Seyoum Tsehaye, Amanuel Asrat, Petros Solomon and Haile Woldetensae.
According to Human Rights Watch, the fate or whereabouts of 11 former senior officials and 10 independent journalists remain unknown.
Twenty-five years is an entire generation.

25 years ago while the world’s attention was consumed by 9/11 tragedy in America, #Eritrean dictator detained senior ministers & journalists without trial, charges & due process💔25 years later, families are still waiting in agony. No trial! No answers! Never forgotten. #G15 #Eritrea16 #Freethemall

🇪🇷 The irony is unbelievable!
After destroying Eritrea and turning a once-promising nation into a prison, Isaias Afwerki walks around Moscow, amazed by the city’s beauty and development.
Asmara was once proudly known as “Little Rome.” Today, after decades of dictatorship, neglect, and failed leadership, our capital is struggling to preserve its former glory.
He admires Moscow’s progress while Eritrea’s youth are imprisoned, forced into endless national service, or driven into exile.
A dictator who destroyed his own country, now walks around admiring another country’s achievements.
Eritrea deserves better. Our people deserve freedom, dignity, and a future.

25 years of silence. No trial. No transparent legal process. No confirmed proof that they are still alive.
The Eritrean16 have become a symbol of one of Eritrea’s most controversial and unresolved human-rights cases. Since the 2001 crackdown on independent media and political dissent, their fate has remained largely unknown.
Now, 188 writers, including Nobel laureates Olga Tokarczuk and J. M. Coetzee, are demanding answers.
The controversy goes beyond the fate of 16 individuals. It raises fundamental questions about freedom of expression, due process, political accountability, and what happens when people can disappear without a public trial or meaningful information about their whereabouts.
For their families and supporters, silence is not an answer.
Eritrea’s authorities should provide clear, verifiable information about the detainees’ status and ensure that fundamental legal rights are respected.
The international community should continue demanding transparency, accountability, and access to independent information.

The problem of the Eritrean people is the #PFDJ regime.
For 36 years, it has sown hatred and prevented the Eritrean people from living in peace with their neighbours.
Our neighbours are not our enemies. Our enemy is the repressive regime!

Meley song
"Khedra", "awliE", and "meley"are some of the names Eritreans passionately refer to their original national flag.
Ebro Ahmed, an African American from Minnesota, jumped onto a moving bus to save 19 school children and the driver who was incapacitated, he became a national hero earning global praise. However there was some confusion about his background that even mainstream media outlets kept referring to him as Somali when he kept saying he was Eritrean.
A more light hearted debate was also going on between some Somali and Eritreans each claiming him as their own. I thought I use the opportunity to introduce people to "meley" and the historic bond between Eritrean and Somali people that many may not know about.-
