The demonstration in Switzerland, organized by Blue Revolution, addresses the oppressive conditions caused by the brutal regime in Eritrea, which forces its citizens to flee and seek justice in democratic countries such as Switzerland. Our unity today is not just about exposing the dictatorship, but also about ensuring that decisive actions are taken to support those affected. We continue our struggle for freedom and justice, and we call on the authorities to grant residence permits to those escaping persecution and depression. #EritreanRefugees #AsylumSeekers #HumanRights #BlueRevolution #JusticeSeekers #TransnationalRepression #Eritrea #BlueRevolution #NoMorePFDJTerror @ignaziocassis @alain_berset @ParmelinG @Violapamherd @FabianMolinaNR @Amnesty_Suisse @SwissPeaceHR @ONU_fr @UNGeneva @swiss_un @LesVertsSuisses @GrueneCH @spschweiz @cedricwermuth @meyer_mattea @AndreaCaroniAR @fedpolCH @elisabeth_baume @CarloSommaruga @SamsonYemane @ahodgers @Tapotheloz @ChappuisM @SwissMFAStatSec @CarloSommaruga @SEMIGRATION @s_sommaruga @BR_Sprecher @RTSinfo @tdgch

At least 47 Orthodox Christians were killed in a late-night attack in Shirka Woreda, in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region, Borkena news reports. Armed groups surrounded farming families in their homes around 10:00 PM, blocked the exits, opened fire and set the houses on fire. Local sources told Borkena the attackers included local armed groups and others from the neighboring Bale Zone. Residents asked police to step in, but the outlet reports that officers did not act, saying they had no official orders. Families are now burying their dead among the ashes of their homes. Let us pray for an end to the persecution of Christians in Ethiopia. #EthiopiaNews #ChristianPersecution #OrthodoxChristians #ReligiousFreedom #PrayForEthiopia

The departure of US sanctions on Eritrea has sparked debate about its possible humanitarian, developmental and geopolitical implications. Yet a less expected consequence may lie ahead: one that exposes its ruling party’s creaking autocracy, as officials gain access to new opportunities beyond its leader’s own control. According to Reuters) - Eritrean soldiers drove through the northern Ethiopian town of Adigrat on Wednesday, witnesses and experts said, days after the Horn of Africa neighbours severed diplomatic ties, raising fears of outright conflict.

How Isaias Afwerki’s Dictatorship Trapped Eritrea and Destabilized the Horn More than three decades after independence, President Isaias Afwerki has transformed Eritrea from a promise of liberation into a personalist dictatorship fueled by indefinite conscription and severe domestic repression. To justify emergency rule and maintain internal control, the regime routinely manufactures external fear and instigates conflict across the Horn of Africa— from Djibouti to Ethiopia. Lacking domestic legitimacy, Asmara has increasingly positioned itself as a proxy for outside powers like Egypt, actively sabotaging Ethiopia’s vision for shared economic integration, infrastructure development, and regional peace. Ultimately, lasting security and prosperity in the Horn of Africa cannot coexist with a regime whose survival relies entirely on perpetual conflict and regional destabilization. 👉Read the full article to discover how Asmara’s perpetual crisis strategy threatens stability across the Horn of Africa! pulseofafrica.info/opinion/2… #HornofAfrica #Ethiopia #Eritrea #IsaiasAfwerki #ThePulseofAfrica

Wake up and think about what you are actually supporting. The very dictator you are so willing to financially support and defend is the same regime that can take your passport the moment you arrive in #Eritrea. And if you falsely claimed asylum, your immigration status could be put at serious risk. Before you stand with the regime, think about the consequences, and who will be there to protect you when things go wrong.

Brigade N’Hamedu is not the problem —Eritrea’s lack of democracy is. Germany should distinguish between allegations against individuals and an entire movement demanding democratic change. 33 years without national elections, an unimplemented constitution, no independent media and indefinite national service are the real issues. We demand democratic transition, constitutional government and accountable institutions. #BlueRevolution #BrigadeNHamedu #Eritrea #NoMorePFDJTerrorist #humanright

The German authorities should be challenged on the way they are framing the Eritrean opposition The arrests of two alleged Brigade N’Hamedu members in Germany are serious matters that should be dealt with through evidence and due process. But allegations against individuals should not automatically become a label applied to an entire political movement or to Eritreans demanding democratic change. Brigade N’Hamedu is part of a wider Eritrean movement calling for political change, constitutional government, accountable institutions and an end to one-party rule. Eritrea has had no national elections since independence in 1993. The 1997 constitution has never been implemented, independent media and opposition parties are not permitted, and indefinite national service remains a major human-rights concern. These conditions have been documented by Human Rights Watch and UN mechanisms. That context cannot simply be erased by repeating the Eritrean government’s narrative about its opponents. If German authorities have evidence that particular individuals committed crimes, let that evidence be examined in court. But political opposition to the Eritrean government should not itself be treated as criminality. We stand for a democratic transition, constitutional government, accountable institutions and the right of Eritreans to determine their own political future. The question is not whether Eritreans should have a voice. The question is whether that voice will be heard fairly. #BlueRevolution #BrigadeNHamedu #Eritrea #DemocraticTransition #ConstitutionalGovernment #HumanRights

#DawitIsaak - 25 years of unlawful imprisonment in Eritrea. It is time for Eritrea to give a clear #proofoflife and facilitate his release. It is time for the Swedish government to give a meaningful update about his case. susanneberge.substack.com/p/…

We demand answers ! 📣 In September 2001, the Eritrean government shut down all independent media outlets and arrested 12 writers and journalists, including the Swedish-Eritrean journalist Dawit Isaak, for peacefully criticizing the government's policies and advocating reforms. They've been missing since. We don't know where they are held or if they are still alive. Together with PEN International and 188 authors from around the world, we urge Eritrea's President Isaias Afwerki to immediately provide evidence that they are still alive. Dear Amanuel Asrat, Dawit Habtemichael, Dawit Isaak, Fessehaye ‘Joshua’ Yohannes, Matheos Habteab, Medhanie Haile, Sahle ‘Wedi-ltay’ Tsegazeab, Said Abdelkadir, Said Idris ‘Abu Are’, Seyoum Tsehaye, Temesgen Ghebreyesus and Yousif Mohammed Ali: We will not give up until we get answers. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the silencing of independent Eritrean media and the arrest of some of the world’s longest-detained journalists xitter.cf/cpjafrica/status/21009…
“It was the first and last time that I’ve been able to be near my father,” Beilula Sium tells CPJ, describing how — as a baby — she met her journalist father, Seyoum Tsehaye. “We were able to enter for a brief moment, enough time that he could see me through the bars of the prison.” CPJ interviewed three relatives of the #Eritrea16, who are among the longest-detained journalists in the world. September 18 marks the 25th anniversary of the day that authorities banned the privately owned press, triggering a wave of arrests. These journalists have been arbitrarily imprisoned, without trial or access to their families, for a quarter of a century. CPJ calls on Eritrean authorities to account for their health, whereabouts, and legal status. Their families have a right to know. ⚖️ Free the #Eritrea16 🇪🇷 Read more: cpj.org/awards/the-eritrea-1…

25 years of silence. No trial. No transparent legal process. No confirmed proof that they are still alive. The Eritrean16 have become a symbol of one of Eritrea’s most controversial and unresolved human-rights cases. Since the 2001 crackdown on independent media and political dissent, their fate has remained largely unknown. Now, 188 writers, including Nobel laureates Olga Tokarczuk and J. M. Coetzee, are demanding answers. The controversy goes beyond the fate of 16 individuals. It raises fundamental questions about freedom of expression, due process, political accountability, and what happens when people can disappear without a public trial or meaningful information about their whereabouts. For their families and supporters, silence is not an answer. Eritrea’s authorities should provide clear, verifiable information about the detainees’ status and ensure that fundamental legal rights are respected. The international community should continue demanding transparency, accountability, and access to independent information. #Eritrea #Eritrean16 #HumanRights #FreedomOfExpression #PressFreedom #EBRF
