We lost a great friend Payton Matthews was an basketball official and a Good Man.
We lost a great friend in our mid-Missouri sports family. Payton Matthews was an elite basketball official, and a better man. He always had a smile and a word of encouragement. Prayers for Payton’s family, including his daughter Megan who also serves as an official.

“As a dual Swedish-Eritrean citizen, Mr. Isaak’s case has remained a longstanding and unresolved issue in Swedish foreign policy, with repeated diplomatic efforts failing to achieve a resolution. Irrespective of Eritrea’s refusal to recognize Mr. Isaak’s Swedish citizenship, it should not absolve the Swedish government of its responsibility to protect him. Regardless of Eritrea’s position, Sweden has an obligation to advocate for the rights and wellbeing of one of its citizens.” ICYMI, read Judith Abitan’s op-ed for Hostage Aid: "Why Dawit Isaak Must Be Released – & Eritrea Held Accountable": hostageaid.org/why-dawit-isa… @TheRWCHR @bergersus @Edelstam

#Eritrea #BlueRevolution #NoMorePFDJTerror @Dabrahameritrea WHEN HE IS IN ERITREA HE PLAY A HERO BUT LOOK AT HIM When Isaias Afwerki is inside Eritrea, he presents himself as a hero. But leadership should not be measured by appearances, fear, or displays of power. True leadership is measured by serving the people and respecting their rights. The army and its weapons belong to the Eritrean people—not to one man. The army is our people, and our people are the nation. We must ask ourselves: Should Eritreans continue fighting and killing one another, or should we unite peacefully to demand the rule of law, the implementation of our Constitution, and the fundamental rights of every citizen? Eritrea needs a peaceful transition of power—not more conflict between brothers and sisters. Our struggle is not against one another. Our struggle is for justice, freedom, constitutional government, and a future in which every Eritrean can live with dignity.

#ERITREANS AND #ETHIOPIANS: OUR BROTHERS, OUR NEIGHBORS — LET US NOT PROMOTE WAR. We, Eritreans and Ethiopians, are brothers and neighbors. Our people share history, culture, family ties, and generations of connections. We should never allow political disagreements to turn us against one another. War will only bring fear, suffering, displacement, and loss of innocent lives. Both Eritrean and Ethiopian people will live in uncertainty and insecurity for years to come, while ordinary citizens, especially our youth and the poor, pay the highest price. At the end of the day, politicians will sit around a table, negotiate, and pretend to make peace. But the people who sacrificed their lives, lost their families, and destroyed their futures will be left to carry the consequences. Let us not be fooled or manipulated by temporary political leaders and their political games. Our future belongs to our people, not to politicians who gamble with the lives of innocent citizens. Let us promote peace, dialogue, understanding, and unity. Our people deserve a future built on cooperation, dignity, and prosperity — not another war. NO MORE WAR. NO MORE SUFFERING. LET OUR PEOPLE LIVE IN PEACE. #Eritrea #BlueRevolution #NoMorePFDJTerror @EGerasouli35992 @US_SrAdvisonrAF @TiborPNagyJr @martinplaut @nickschifrin @Dabrahameritrea @US_SrAdvisorAF

We are living in a society overwhelmed by ignorance and intellectual intolerance. I have blocked 117 individuals who chose to insult me in the replies to my posts. Let me make one thing clear: You cannot change an open-minded person’s worldview through insults or personal attacks. If you disagree with someone’s ideas, challenge them with evidence, logic, and constructive criticism. Discipline is a sign of maturity, and respectful disagreement is a sign of intellectual confidence. You do not have to agree with everyone, but you should have enough self-control to disagree without being offensive. It is easy to block someone, but it is astonishing to see how many people still mistake insults for arguments and provocation for intellectual strength. Learn to argue, not insult. Learn to reason, not provoke. Respect others, even when you disagree with them.
