Luc, on marketing:

405K Google clicks. 3.42M impressions. All organic, in one of the most saturated app niches.
And it all started with a pretty basic SEO setup.
Here's what I did:
1. Fixed the fundamentals
I initially hooked up my entire project to Claude and had it audit the website.
> technical SEO issues
> metadata and page structure
> sitemap and indexing problems
> performance improvements
> missing internal links
The goal was to clean up everything that could prevent Google from properly crawling and understanding the site.
2. Built my own content workflow
I created a custom writing skill to help produce content that actually answers what people are searching for, rather than pumping out generic AI articles.
Started with just one quality blog post per week.
Nothing crazy, but I made sure every article targeted a specific search intent and was relevant to the product.
3. Then @openseo_so came along
This was probably one of the biggest improvements to my workflow.
I connected it to Claude/Codex through MCP, and it helped me understand and implement SEO practices I had previously overlooked.
> keyword clustering and topical authority
> finding low-difficulty keywords with decent search volume
> building proper internal linking structures
> identifying content gaps
> improving existing pages instead of constantly creating new ones
> tracking rankings and technical issues
A lot of this is standard SEO, but having an agent analyze my actual website and explain what needed fixing made it much easier to execute.
4. Kept publishing and monitoring
I continued publishing relevant content, tracking indexing in GSC, and improving pages based on what was actually ranking.
One thing I learned is that publishing doesn't mean Google will automatically index or rank your content.
So I started paying much more attention to:
> which pages were indexed
> which keywords started gaining impressions
> which articles needed improvement
> where internal links could help
> what was actually bringing users into the product
And eventually the graph started looking like this.
The interesting part is that growth wasn't linear at all.
Months of relatively flat traffic, followed by a jump, another period of slower growth, and then a much bigger spike.
I'm still figuring things out, and traffic has pulled back from its recent peak.
But going from almost no organic visibility to 405K clicks has completely changed how I approach building apps.
I now treat SEO as part of product development from day one, not something to think about after launching.
And the best part? The traffic is actually converting into paying customers.

My workflow for building enough quality, indexable pages to reach 50k+ monthly users on my tax calculator site:
1. Every page is cross-checked against official sources + Google's latest guidelines before it ships. If a figure can't be verified, it doesn't go live.
2. Once you've got traction, connect your AI coding agent to Google Search Console via MCP.
3. Have it find the queries you're getting impressions for but have no dedicated page for. Build those pages.
Rinse and repeat.

we've been busy @verbove
since featuremaxxing is the new trend, here we go 😂
every week someone tells me they don't need MakerMap because AI can build it for them over the weekend
wishing them the best, here's the backlog of things to make sure to include:
> a world map of 5,000+ makers from X, each pinned to their city
> pins that switch between faces, product logos and meetups
> 85 makers in one city without stacking everyone on the same pixel
> bigger pins for the top 20 makers
> boats floating around the oceans that anyone can bid on, starting at $5
> yes, one of them is a yacht
> a dedicated page for every maker, product, city and country
> natural language search across everything
> a product directory, automatically categorized by AI
> AI that reads 5,000+ maker introductions so you don't have to
> find co-founders, beta users, investors, designers or just people like you
> or simply someone building something cool around the corner
> automatically create a maker profile from their X intro before they even sign up
> let them claim it with a single post on X
> give them a verified ✓
> Overview, Posts, Network and Points tabs
> all their socials displayed next to their name
> follower growth, posting heatmaps, peak hours and streaks
> click analytics for profiles, products and boats
> backlinks to every maker's product
> an embeddable "Connect with me on MakerMap" badge with their live ranking
> product reviews that automatically post to X and tag the maker
> optional X location syncing (off by default, obviously)
> follow your favorite makers
> an "open to meet" switch
> personalized introductions explaining why two makers should connect
> ready-to-post introductions on X that tag both makers
> or a personalized DM, already written
> 5 recommended makers delivered to your inbox every Monday
> nearby makers one week, similar makers the next
> then complementary skills, then people working toward the same goals
> no repeats for 3 weeks
> rankings for every city, country and the entire world
> points for hosting, answering questions, inviting friends and linking MakerMap in your bio
> a ledger explaining where every single point came from
> referral links that earn points
> a Monday email with your rank, matches and recommended group
> a welcome email full of actual human faces
> in-person meetups
> online meetups through X Spaces
> polls to decide when and where to meet
> calendar invites
> one-tap RSVPs, even if you haven't signed up yet
> email reminders for attendees
> ready-to-post X reminders for hosts
> "meet your 6 matches" with one click
> private co-working sessions you can organize through Telegram
> friends vote on the date and location
> public co-working sessions displayed on the map
> an "ask to join" button
> travel plans that show which makers will be in your destination
> an "Ask the makers" feature that routes questions to 5 relevant experts
> a community knowledge base organized by topic
> yes, there's a "Nobody signs up" section
> @MakerMapBot, because apparently the map needs an employee
> mention it with your project and it creates a page from your post, bio and pinned post
> ask it to organize a meetup and it creates the event and polls for a time
> it announces new meetups on X
> it replies to everyone saying "I'm in"
> it posts new products daily and tags their makers
> it understands what you mean, not just keywords
> say "stop" once and it never tags you again
> MakerMap inside Claude through an MCP connector with 20 tools
> find makers, organize meetups, RSVP and ask questions without leaving your chat
> Stripe subscriptions, boat auctions and refunds
> unique share cards for every maker, product, meetup and city
> server-rendered pages, sitemaps and IndexNow
> SEO for thousands of automatically generated pages
> flag emojis that actually work on Windows (they don't by default)
> installable on iPhone and Android
> session replays, analytics and bot traffic filtering
> an age checker smart enough to know a "17-year post-production expert" isn't 17 years old
> a database that sometimes answers 60 seconds late
> code that never trusts the database
> deployment locks so 10 Claude sessions don't overwrite each other's work
> X API rules that have changed 3 times since February
> an X bot that got locked once (we're friends again)
> get thousands of people to actually use it
> somehow convince people to share it
> go viral a few times
and finally:
> the 5,000+ real makers already building, connecting and meeting on MakerMap
good luck prompting those into existence
