Meet Lola, #StetPet editorial assistant of Boise Guild member @DetailedDraft.
"Trusty goofball Lola growls when she’s happy and gives the best extended greetings. She can spot the tiniest crumb on the floor like an editor can spot an italicized period."

6/13 After 2 years I felt ready to query, so I drafted my letter using the “hook, book, & cook” approach. Then I asked tons of folks in the #kidlit #writingcommunity for feedback. I’m especially grateful for the help and encouragement of Kristin @DetailedDraft. 🩷

Working with repeat clients can be so nice, like talking to a friend you haven't seen in a bit, but their voice is immediately recognizable and a joy to hear. #AmEditing

Word that’s making me smile today: inkslinger. It’s 19th century slang for a writer.

My 14yo just asked if she could leave money in her favorite books at the library as a reward for other people having good taste.

A teacher is reading my book to her class. She sent me a video of the kids discussing the book, giving predictions, and talking about how they love it. My whole WEEK has been made!!! #WritingCommunity #writerslife

Buying this blender started with the best of intentions. It's ended in milkshakes. 😂

My favorite sort of silence: when we have just returned home from the library and the kids are all entranced by their new books.

Something new authors don't appear to be aware of, but you should know. You can say no to your editor. I mean, they're usually right, and you should at least look into whether of not the changes make the book better, but you can 100% disagree and not change it. It's fine.
