✨COVER REVEAL✨
Super excited to share the gorgeous cover for DROWN ME WITH DREAMS, the sequel to Sing Me to Sleep!
Can’t wait for y’all to read the conclusion to my favorite murdery siren’s story on August 20th 🧜🏿♀️🔥
Haven’t posted in foreve, but Sing Me to Sleep somehow has a “best of #booktok” banner on Amazon and I don’t know how it got there so I’m making it everyone’s problem

ALT Book cover for Sing Me to Sleep by Gabi Burton alongside an informational panel which reads: “Sing Me to Sleep (Sing Me to Sleep, 1) Hardcover Featured in the New York Times, Glamour, Buzzfeed, and more! In this dark and seductive YA fantasy debut, perfect for fans of Fourth Wing and These Violent Delights, a siren assassin falls for a forbidden man. Killer. Liar. Soldier. Spy. Saoirse is a killer: Her ability to sing men to an early death makes her the top assassin in the kingdom. Saoirse is a liar: If the royal family ever finds out she's a siren, she'll be executed immediately. Saoirse is a soldier: As the top student at the most prestigious training academy”
Haven’t been on socials in a minute but today’s my off-my-parents-health-insurance birthday, so if ever there was a time to buy my books, today’s the day
I've been taking a break from socials while the world is imploding and apparently I'm supposed to be on 🧵s now?? Can someone please tell me if it's worth it?
REMINDER TO AUTHORS: if you had a book come out recently, don't forget to update your bios/links/website to say "Buy" instead of "Preorder."
(have I followed my own advice? nope. but do as I say, not as I do)
if you defend graphic SA of women and girls in fantasy because it's "realistic" but get upset if there's a single person of color or queer character existing in a fantasy world, you should seek help. and someone needs to check your computer

I'll never forget being on a Romantasy panel with 4 authors & the moderator asked if WE thought our books were romantasy. We all said no.
I don't care if people call my books romantasy, but the unclear definition can set up readers to be disappointed in the romance/fantasy ratio
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing new readers finding my debut! But my dream is for readers years from now to reflect on my body of work as a whole, and see how much I've grown as an author. As much as I love my first born, I hope to love my future books even more
I want to grow and evolve as an author. I want every series I write to be better than the last. The author I was 4 years ago writing the 1st draft of SMTS is different from the writer I am now. And I hope the writer I am next year is better than the writer I am today
I love my debut. She accomplished more than I ever dreamed (4!! starred reviews, Sunday Times bestseller, pretty special editions, indie next/introduce, translated in multiple languages, etc.)
AND YET, I sincerely hope Sing Me to Sleep is the worst series I ever write🧵
Something that drives me wild in movies/tv shows is when other people answer someone else’s phone. Who does this??? Do people answer other people’s phones?
