#cplusplus #compile thread, so I don't have to try to link them together in some horrible fashion
Want to get into the game dev industry? I made this (clickbait) mistake, too.

Stumbled into this and I am amazed. I won’t be able to unhear it and it’s kinda the best thing.
Among my favorite moments working on God of War Ragnorak: creating bloody (but vegan) source with the Bob Ross of Gore @schapps, crafting harmonic overtone source for Mjolnir using Jeff Darby’s axe blanks from GOW 3. Our global Foley efforts don’t belong to any one person… (🧵)
I know I haven’t been posting much for a while, but I just gotta say… best team ever. Last night was a blast (and I’m sure I made a fool of myself, but That’s Okay!)

There is a general perception that C/C++ is only for peak performance cases, so API can be ugly — if you wanted easy and clear, you would be using a different language. I think that is unfortunate. It is possible to make “joyful API” in C.

With a hugely heavy heart, I had to say goodbye to @idSoftware today after almost 8 years. They're an amazing studio filled with amazing people and I wish them the best!
I have loved my time with them and highly recommend them if you're ever looking. I will miss them dearly.

Planning ahead doesn't mean knowing everything up front. It means taking the time to study the problem, what you can figure out now and what you'll have to keep an eye on as things progress.
No plan survives contact with the enemy, but how do you FIND the enemy without a plan?

Maybe C and macros are for introverts that want to get the thing done and go home, and Modern C++ is for people that enjoy discussions by the kitchenette and whiteboards.
As a software developer, you _will_ perform all of these tasks (some surprisingly often.)
