I shall get it stripped down and properly photographed over the weekend - but I finally own a small Chubb Detector of my own! 😁 Interesting to see how it works, and very well made. Beautiful lock. @discreetsecure reckons 1940’s vintage due to the address on it. #lockcollector

Hola! :-) There are a world of options, depending on your budget (I waste far too much money collecting tools i don’t use, because I like shiny things ;-p). Start with a small set - no point buying a massive set of picks and then finding out you don’t like the hobby... 1/n

Well, I didn’t make it into the last 12 in the lock picking competition at LockCon 2019 this year 😕 I missed out the next round by 1 very poorly made lock . Still, 9/10 locks picked with good times and I got the best times out of all the British here 😃

Tonight a heat treatment went VERY wrong when trying a new technique. 5 hours work down the pan. Was going to post a photo but I never want reminding of it again. It is this type of thing that people do not appreciate when moaning about tool prices. #locktoolMaking #frustration

Yes, I tried it. Yes, it's an easier open than a rake. Followed by an instant decode for making key. Schlage tool expected in a month or two. I wonder how it will perform when anti-pick, anti-bump, and SmartKey are involved....
