Not a bad first week for Ionic Digital Stock ($IOND)! Here's some interesting math I just ran based on the average first week price ($68) of $IOND... In Feb 2024 when Celsius did it's first round of distributions, creditors received 14.9% of their claim in $IOND stock valued at $20/share. So for example, if you were holding 1 BTC on Celsius, your total claim would have been $20,875 (which is the $19,881 petition price x 1.05%). In Feb 2024 you would have received: - 0.14825395 BTC - 2.21542960 ETH - 156 shares of stock (valued at $3,120 at the time) (Since then, you would have also received 0.030435 of BTC from other smaller distributions, totaling 87% of your claim). If Celsius had never happened, and you were still holding your BTC, you would have about $65,000 of BTC today. Instead, here's what you have now: - $11,615 of BTC - $4,229 of ETH - $10,600 of stock - $2,713 left in your Celsius claim Total: $29,157 So yes, Celsius creditors got royally screwed. But, if we look just at the stock portion of the claim, 0.149 BTC right now is worth $9,685 today, but 156 shares of IOND was worth about $10,608 on average the first week, so it's a tiny silver lining ;)

Wishing the best of luck to all the former celsius users, hoping everyone sees some good value recovered from $IOND shares. Value that could materialize as early as tomorrow or many years from now. Everyone has different goals and burdens. I'm happy for you if you're happy

Whatever you decide regarding today’s $IOND direct listing, avoid placing market orders. You would risk being paired with a predatory bid on the other side of a thin market.

For those that didn’t follow me during the Celsius years: Celsius collapsed after management committed fraud, including funding long-term Bitcoin mining operations with a large $USDT loan secured against client Bitcoin, creating a maturity mismatch by financing long-term assets with short-term liabilities, and manipulating the price of $CEL to conceal the large hole in the balance sheet. Alex Mashinsky later pleaded guilty to fraud-related charges and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Those Bitcoin mining operations ultimately became part of the bankruptcy estate and were transferred to creditors. Ionic Digital is not Celsius. It is a completely new company with a new board, new management team, new governance, and a new strategy focused on AI/HPC infrastructure. It is expected to begin trading next week under $IOND. I don’t have any obligation to disclose what I do with my shares, but given that I was the 7th largest shareholder resulting from the bankruptcy, and that many people followed my work throughout the case, I think it’s appropriate to be transparent. For that reason, I can confirm that I won’t be selling my shares at launch. This isn’t financial advice, it’s simply my personal decision. AI infrastructure is a sector I wanted exposure to anyway, so I’m happy to continue holding for now. If I ever fully exit my position, I’ll let the community know. Congratulations to everyone who stayed the course through this nearly four-year journey. It’s good to finally see these assets begin a new chapter under an entirely new company. The company recently shared an investor update, and I’ll continue posting updates for shareholders in the X community we created during the Celsius bankruptcy as $IOND begins trading.
Ionic Digital Update! So yesterday $HUT signed a $9.8 billion deal & $IREN signed a $2.8 billion deal. This is huge news for Ionic, in my humble opinion. $IOND This entire space is doing quite well. Trading starts next week.

It was a really interesting call.... while there's obviously the hope of recovering money from the Celsius bankruptcy wrapped up in the shares, it's also easy to see how this is a stock that's worth holding longer term. They're well capitalised, look to have good income, reasonable plans for future expansion, and a team that has a good history of doing exactly what they're setting out to do. While I'd have probably preferred that the Bitcoin mining continue (I'm sentimental that way) I get why they don't want to do it longer term. They're direct listing at about $53 per share, and recent investors (who were in the $400MM round) have a six-month lockup unless certain price targets are hit. They've gone out of their way to make it so that there were no dilutive effects on existing shareholders which is great to see, especially if everyone is "rowing in the same direction" to hit those price targets. There will obviously be initial selling as ex-Celsius folks try to recoup losses but after that it will be really interesting to see how things go after that.

@IonicDigital raises $400M at a $2B pre money valuation? See press release below. @SimonDixonTwitt @CelsiusNetwork @CelsiusUcc @CelsiusLOC Grok math for investment price per share. Need to verify. The implied price per share for this $400M equity private placement (at $2B pre-money / $2.4B post-money valuation) is approximately $53.55 (pre-money basis). How It’s Calculated • Pre-money shares outstanding: ~37.37 million Class A common shares (based on the company’s most recent reported figures of 37,374,261 shares). • Pre-money price per share = $2,000,000,000 ÷ 37,374,261 ≈ $53.55. • Investment: $400 million. • New shares issued (at the same price) ≈ $400M ÷ $53.55 ≈ 7.47 million shares. • Post-money shares ≈ 44.84 million. • Post-money valuation check: 44.84M shares × $53.55 ≈ $2.4 billion (matches exactly). This assumes the new shares in the private placement are issued at the same price as the implied pre-money valuation per share (standard for such priced equity rounds) and uses the latest available share count prior to this transaction. No other classes of stock (e.g., preferred) appear to be outstanding in significant amounts that would materially alter the fully diluted picture for this calculation. If there is a more recent/updated capitalization table, options, warrants, or other dilutive securities, the exact per-share price could vary slightly. The press release itself does not disclose the share count or explicit per-share price. ionicdigital.com/press-relea…
