The biggest threat to Maldivian sovereignty is not foreign investment itself, but the people who enable it.
Let's rewind on what Azaan promised during his campaign for #Majilis2024
Promises became compromises.
Chained by party loyalty.
Gone were the principles.

Utter nonsense.
They choose to spend their own money on their constituents, yet talking about it makes it sound as though they are being forced to do so.
The true purpose of a People’s Majlis is to bring about legislative changes that improve people’s lives. People shouldn’t have to beg for basic healthcare or housing. They place their trust in these MFs by voting for them and electing them to represent their interests.
These people give out gifts to the public but fail to bring about the changes that actually matter and directly affect people’s lives.
Azaan has voted in favour of almost every bill that benefited him or his party. He sits in a Majlis with a supermajority. He campaigned under the banner of changing people’s lives and being the voice of everyone, especially his own constituents.
Muizzu has spent over $700 million to fulfil his own ego, pushed MACL to the brink of collapse, and left its staff waiting for their bonuses. Yet Azaan, who receives MVR 77,000 from taxpayers’ money, has nothing to say?
If it were the MDP doing this, he would have already published 20,000 articles and made over 30,000 videos about it.
After everything he has done and continues to do, it’s astonishing that people are still falling for his propaganda.
Well well… @axanner has spoken.
Technically he isn’t wrong here… but my issue is that he lacks the political will to bring the necessary changes. Why? Cuz he bows to Muizzu, and the gang won’t reform the system. Ultimately he chooses not to fight for his people despite knowing what’s right.

Don’t know why Azaan is being left out of this conversation. He sits on the same committee, attended this session, and voted in favour of all these salary increases.
For a guy who wouldn’t stop talking about politicians’ salaries between 2018 and 2023, he should be called out long before the people who submitted the paper.
Azaan paved his way into the Majlis by exploiting these very issues that people care about: salaries, nepotism, favouritism, and corruption. Now, he is part of a government doing the very same things he once criticised.
He played with people’s minds, making them believe he was the best thing that could ever happen to Maldivian politics. He went on live TV and spoke about how politicians exploit the people and how he would be different.
UPDATES: After further deliberations, or rather confusions, once again Funadhoo MP Mohamed Mamdhooh proposed:
1. Additional allowance for Parliament Speaker: 22,000. Increasing speakers salary to 95,000.
2. Increase ministers’ drivers’ car fuel allowance from 1,000 to 2,000
3. Ministers’ drivers’ basic salary to: 12,000
4. Additional living allowance for ministers’ drivers: 3,000
That brings a minister’s driver’s total monthly package to MVR 17,000. It used to be some 6000.
Submitted by Funadhoo MP Mamdhooh and endorsed by Fuvamulak MP Hamad.
Remember these names. Remember who proposes, who endorses, and who votes for these decisions.

Do we have autonjectors in our flights? (Can save lives in need)
A flight’s medical kit held epinephrine only at the strength used for cardiac arrest, in a device the doctor who answered the call had never used.
Samara Friedman, MD, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon in private practice, was on a long flight when the call came: is there a doctor on board?
A 20-year-old college student had eaten the meal, found nuts in it, and could not find her auto-injectors. A nurse had already given her an allergy pill. When that did not help, the nurse said, "Maybe it’s a panic attack. Why don’t you sit down, relax, and see how things go?"
Dr. Friedman took a history. The student’s throat was itchy, her nose was running, her pulse was fast. No hives and no wheezing, and nobody could say yet whether it was anaphylaxis.
Her reasoning is worth saving. If it was anaphylaxis and went untreated, the ramifications could be disastrous. If it was a panic attack, the cost was a painful shot with minor side effects. With limited resources on an airplane, she says the right call was unquestionably to give the epinephrine.
The flight kit did have epinephrine, but not in an auto-injector and not at a concentration meant for anaphylaxis. It was the cardiac arrest kind, in a device she was completely unfamiliar with. "I had to MacGyver this epinephrine." She got it into a needle and syringe and converted the dose herself. The injection came out to about 10 times the volume of an auto-injector, because the concentration was 10 times more dilute. Within minutes the itchy throat and runny nose resolved and her pulse returned to normal.
Her point is the system, not the rescue. In a flight of 300 or 400 people, she says, there are at least three or four who cannot eat the food. She says an airline could afford auto-injectors: "They probably prefer not to, and they just push that off to you, the doctors that have to deal with it when the issue arises."
As an orthopedic surgeon she uses maybe three or four medications in her practice, and she says she would not have known the proper anaphylaxis dose offhand without a personal reason to know it. An auto-injector, she says, could be used by a flight attendant, a paramedic, or a nurse.
What should an airline medical kit hold so that anyone on board can use it?

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee has approved an increase in the Speaker’s salary from 73,125/- to 95,000/- month.
That’s nearly 30% raise.
The proposal was submitted by Kelaa MP Abdul Shareef and endorsed by Funadhoo MP Mohamed Mamdhooh.
Dear media, stop using photos of the Parliament Speaker & Prz Muizz to report this news.
Instead, show the faces of the MPs who propose, endorse, and vote for such decisions.
Let the public see exactly who is making these decisions with taxpayers’ money.
