Alhamdulillah, I am humbled to be elected as the MP for Hithadhoo Medhu, the largest constituency in the Maldives. Many thought it was impossible, but with Allah's will, we have triumphed. Heartfelt thanks to my constituents and supporters across the Maldives.

I am extremely grateful for the highly productive official talks we had today. We engaged in constructive discussions that lay a solid foundation for strengthening our bilateral ties, as we celebrate 60 years of formal diplomatic relations.
We reviewed our longstanding friendship and outlined joint priorities across key sectors, including trade and investment, health and education, environment and tourism, fisheries and agriculture, youth and sports, defence and security, training and capacity-building, as well as regional and multilateral cooperation.
I am pleased that we have agreed to take the bilateral trade between our countries from USD 13 million to USD 200 million within the next 2 years. I also thank you for the invaluable donation to our five million tree planting initiative.
It is a great honour for me and my country, to have been conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Politics and International Relations by the
International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
Today’s exchange of 20 MoUs opens a dynamic new chapter in Maldives-Pakistan relations. I look forward to taking these initiatives forward as we build a stronger, mutually beneficial partnership!

ރާއްޖޭގެ ޤާނޫނުތައް އޮންނަ ގޮތުން ބިމުގެ މިލްކުވެރިކަން ދާއިމަށް ދޫކޮށްލުމަކީ ކުރެވޭނެ ކަމެއް ނޫން. މަނިކުފާނު މަޖިލީސް މެމްބަރަކަށް ހުންނެވިއިރު މަނިކުފާނު ނިސްބަތްވާ އަތޮޅު ފާފުއަތޮޅުގެ މިލްކުވެރިކަން ބޭރު ބަޔަކަށް ދޭން މަނިކުފާނުގެ ވޯޓާއެކު ފާސްކުރި ޤާނޫނު މިހާރު ވަނީ އުވާލާފަ.
މަނިކުފާނުގެ ސުވާލުތަކަށް ޖަވާބު ލިބުނު ކަމަށް އުންމީދުކުރަން. ގައުމަށް ފައިދާހުރި މަޝްރޫއުތަކަށް، ސަރުކާރުގަ ހުއްޓަސް، ނެތަސް ތާއީދުކުރަންވާނެ. ކުރިން ހުންނެވި މަގާމުގައި ހުންނެވި ނަމަ މަނިކުފާނު ތި މޭރުމުން ތިވާހަކަ ނުދައްކަވާނެކަން ޔަގީން.
ރާއްޖެއަށް ބޮޑެތި އިންވެސްޓްމަންޓްތައް ނުގެނެސް ތަރައްޤިގެ ދުވެލީގައި ރާއްޖެ ކުރިއަރައި ދިއުމަކީ ނާދިރުކަމެއް. އެފަދަ ޕްރޮޖެކްޓްތައް، ރާއްޖޭގެ ރައްޔިތުން އެދޭ ގޮތަށް، ހާމަކަން ބޮޑު ގޮތެއްގައި ތަންފީޒު ވުމަކީ ކޮރަޕްޝަނާއި ފަސާދައިން ދުރުވެ، ޕްރޮޖެކްޓް ކާމިޔާބު ވުމަށް އެޅޭނެ މުހިންމު ފިޔަވަޅެއް. ޢާންމުވެފައިވާ މަޢޫލޫމާތު ތަކަށް ބަލާއިރު ރަސްމާލެ ޕްރޮޖެކްޓަކީވެސް އާދަޔާ ޚިލާފަށް ބޮޑު މަޝްރޫޢުއެއް.
ނަމަވެސް، ރަސްމާލޭގެ އިންވެސްޓްމަންޓްއާ ގުޅޭގޮތުން ރައްޔިތުންގެ މެދުގައި ވަރަށް ބޮޑެތި އަދި ޙައްސާސް ކަންބޮޑުވުންތަކެއް އެބަހުރި. އަޅުގަނޑު ދެކޭ ގޮތުގައި، ގައުމާ ރައްޔިތުންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ޙިމާޔަތްކޮށްދޭން އައްޔަންކޮށްފައި ތިބި ވެރިންގެ ޙައިސިއްޔަތުން ސަރުކާރުން ކުރަންވީ ކަމަކީ، އެ ކަންބޮޑުވުންތަކަށް ޙައްލުތަކެއް ލިބޭނެފަދަ ޖަވާބުތަކެއް ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ދިނުން. އެގޮތުން:
1. ރަސްމާލެ ހިއްކުމަށް މިހާތަނަށް ދައުލަތުން ޚަރަދުކޮށްފައިވަނީ ކިހާ މިންވަރެއްތޯ؟
2. ރަސްމާލޭގެ ބިމާއި ވަށައިގެންވާ ފަޅުގެ އަގުމަގު ކުރެވިފައިވޭތޯ؟ އަދި އެއީ ކިހާވަރެއްތޯ؟
3. އިންވެސްޓްމަންޓުން އަޕްފުރަންޓް ޕެއިމަންޓްގެ ގޮތުގައި އެއްވެސް އެއްޗެއް ލިބޭތޯ؟ އަދި އެއީ ކިހާ މިންވަރެއްތޯ؟
4. އިންވެސްޓް ކުރާ ފަރާތާއި ސަރުކާރުގެ ބައެއް ވެރިންގެ ޢަދަދުތަކުގައި ބޮޑެތި ފަރަގުތަކެއް އެބަހުރި. އެހެންކަމުން، ރާއްޖޭގެ ޤާނޫނީ އޮނިގަނޑުގެ ތެރެއިން ޓެކްސްގެ ގޮތުގައި ލިބޭނެ ކަމަށް ލަފާކުރާ އާމްދަނީ އަކީ ކޮބާތޯ؟ އަދި ވިޔަފާރީގެ ޓެކްސް ނުހިމަނާ، ޕްރޮޖެކްޓްގެ ތެރެއިން ދައުލަތަށް/ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ލިބެނީ ކޯއްޗެއްތޯ އަދި ކިހާ މުއްދަތެއްގެ ތެރޭގައިތޯ؟
5. ބިމުގެ މިލްކްވެރިކަން ދޫކުރަނީ ދާއިމަށްތޯ؟ ބިމުގެ މިލްވެރިކަން ބަދަލުވާ ކޮންމެ ފަހަރަކު، 99 އަހަރު އަލަށް ފެށޭތޯ؟

Moody’s has upgraded the Maldives’ sovereign credit rating from Caa2 to Caa1, its first upgrade since it began rating us in 2016. Following Fitch’s upgrade in June, this is a positive development and reflects progress in debt management under President @MMuizzu
Moody’s Ratings has upgraded the Maldives’ Sovereign Credit Rating from “Caa2” to “Caa1” with a stable outlook. The agency cited the successful repayment and refinancing of significant debt obligations maturing this year, along with improved external buffers, resulting from the Government’s coordinated efforts as the rationale for this rating upgrade.

Under the Ras Malé agreement, all property sale receipts must be held in an escrow account in the Maldives, with release governed by the agreement. All project funds must flow through Maldivian banks.

The Ras Malé agreement provides for State revenue through TGST at standard rates, 10% of the master developer’s revenue from first sales and leases, and a 4% payment on property value by buyers on first purchases and subsequent transfers.
The agreement grants no tax concessions or duty exemptions. The Government will take no loan and provide no sovereign guarantee for the development, ensuring that the project contributes to public revenue without creating these financial obligations for the State.

The Maldives Waterfront and Marina project at Ras Malé is projected to generate over US$11 billion in State revenue during its 10-year development period, an average of approximately US$1.1 billion annually.
This projected annual contribution would exceed the annual government revenue from 179 resorts, 16 hotels, 920 guesthouses and 165 safari vessels combined, underscoring the project’s potential to strengthen public finances and support the Maldives’ long-term development.
