Britain paid slave owners millions when it abolished slavery. Those who were enslaved received nothing. Nearly 200 years later, as calls for an apology grow, can Britain truly make amends without paying reparations?
Al Jazeera's @Lina_Serene reports.
Why is Britain refusing to pay slavery reparations?

In Azerbaijan, while Hijabi girls continue to be denied entry to school, the girls' mothers are being thrown into prison…
Nübar Hasanova, whose 15-year-old daughter was not allowed into school because of her Hijab, was taken into custody and arrested by plainclothes police using brute force when she protested the situation and tried to bring her daughter into the classroom.
Nergizhanım Mammadova, whose daughter was forcibly removed from class and taken to a psychologist to have her Hijab removed, is also among the arrested mothers.
Çinare Dergahova, mother of a fourth-grader, had her protest videos deleted with the promise that "the girl would be allowed into class," and then she too was detained

Are we really going to become second-class citizens in our own country? A gated community on Maldivian soil where we need special permission to visit a hospital and our own kids might not even be allowed to go to school there just because their parents don’t work there? What are we doing? Development is supposed to benefit Maldivians, not shut them out of their own country.
Min Muthalib further explains:
The schools in Rasmale will be for the children of those working in the development.
However, the government specifically demanded that the hospital and shopping mall be accessible to Maldivians.
So, despite Rasmale being a gated community, Maldivians will be allowed to enter the hospital if they have an appointment and will also have access to the shopping mall.

The World Economic Forum’s “cyber pandemic” may be entering its opening stages.
Five European countries were just hit by cyberattacks that disrupted supermarket refrigerators and freezers—just weeks after Bill Gates said “over the next year, we are going to have a lot of NEGATIVE SURPRISES” from AI cyberattacks.
Hackers manipulated refrigeration settings to as high as 122°F, causing widespread food spoilage.
This may explain why governments around the world recently urged citizens to prepare several days’ worth of food and emergency supplies.

What’s the difference between those who were martyred defending their homeland and the Ahl' al Muizzu, that shouts “Qawmiyyath” at the top of their lungs?
The enemies of Islam are relentlessly trying to instil "Wahn" in the hearts of Maldivians. Hence the paid PR trips, showcasing wealth, luxury, and the riches of this world.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and place Wahn in your hearts.”
The Companions asked:
“O Messenger of Allah, what is Wahn?”
He ﷺ replied:
“Love of the world and dislike of death.”

Child sexual abuse is a disgusting problem in this country. And so is the culture of silence and protecting people.
Enough of this shit. Investigate properly. Arrest where the evidence warrants it. Prosecute without delay.

WOW... Rasmale is not the end. This is just setting the stage for military bases here. They won't be bringing this up if they had not wanted to normalize this by masking it as foreign investment tag.

We see how military base investments is going in ME
If you turn a blind eye to Alabbar’s xio affiliations, there’s plenty the Ministry could say to sell RasMale to the public.
But instead, they put people on live TV who compare RasMale to the British military base in Addu and call that a good foreign investment!
Stop giving airtime to people who undermine your own efforts to promote the project. Surely you can find better advocates.
Try State Minister Nazim next time. He should be among those most familiar with the project, not sure if he would dare to show his face defending the project though.

The tactics employed by Mohamed Alabbar and Eagle Hills to influence public opinion over Ras Malé are all too familiar.
Mr Alabbar, @mohamed_alabbar, the Maldives has been a Muslim nation for centuries. Our faith, sovereignty and national identity are not for sale.
You may believe money can buy influence over the @MMuizzu administration, but do not mistake the government’s willingness to accommodate your ambitions for the consent of the Maldivian people.
We will never allow our religious unity, national security or sovereignty to be compromised by foreign interests.
We deeply respect the UAE, its people and its leadership, but that respect must be mutual. Do not underestimate our resilience and determination to defend our nation.
