Serious questions over food hygiene and safety standards have surfaced in Pune after a video showing a rat nibbling on a cake inside Golden Bakery at Mhasoba Chowk in Dattawadi went viral on social media. The incident has triggered sharp reactions among local residents and consumers, raising concerns about the storage conditions and overall cleanliness of baked goods sold to the public. Citizens have urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to take prompt cognizance of the viral footage, inspect the bakery premises, and initiate stringent regulatory action if safety norms were compromised. Official confirmation of the incident, the outcome of an administrative inspection, and a formal response from the bakery management remain awaited.
