1. One big trap in moving to #remote work is it forces you to notice team behavior that is dysfunctional that you never noticed before.
The trap is to blame it on being remote - but in truth the issues were there all along. They're just harder to ignore now.

I’ve never once seen someone in a player/coach role be successful at both simultaneously. Usually one or the other suffers. You are either on the sidelines helping manage the team to victory or you are on the field, but you can’t be in both places at once and still be effective.

Because airlines charge for checked bags
People put everything in a roll-aboard.
Because everyone has a roll aboard, there’s not enough room in the overhead bins.
Because there’s not enough room, many people gate check—for free.

Writing CSS? Wondering why the code you wrote isn’t doing anything? Wait, er, or…? Wait what?
Wouldn’t it help if DevTools would just tell you — “Hey this doesn’t do anything. Here’s why & how to fix it.” Yup.
Firefox 70, shipping tomorrow, does this.

To help stakeholders be better visual design consumers, steer the discussion away from what they “like” & give them useful criteria instead. Teach them to notice what draws the eye, which things get their attention first vs. later, which things are clearly related or not.
