We are devastated by the killing of our colleagues Bonaparte Février and Richard Alexandre in Haiti.
They dedicated their lives to helping others. We mourn their loss and stand with their families and loved ones.
Aid workers must be protected.

We are utterly heartbroken by learning of the brutal killing of two wonderful NRC colleagues yesterday in Port‑au‑Prince, Haiti.
Our two colleagues, Bonaparte Février and Richard Alexandre, were cherished friends and colleagues within our NRC family in Haiti and across the world.
They worked tirelessly as key members of our heroic Haiti team to prevent and alleviate the growing suffering of their fellow Haitians. We mourn with their families and condemn the senseless violence that took the lives of two young men who only wished to provide aid and protection to vulnerable communities that suffer so much from the endemic violence and displacement that has engulfed so many in Haiti.
We call on all parties concerned, including Haitian authorities as well as the international community, to do everything in their power to protect civilians, uphold international law, and prevent further violence.
Neither the Haitian society nor the outside world can tolerate that civilians, including aid workers, are killed with impunity.
We owe it to Bonaparte and Richard to continue their humanitarian mission in Haiti and to bear witness to the atrocities there.
They will always be remembered and we will always be grateful for their vital contribution to our humanitarian work in Haiti and elsewhere.
Nou pa gen okenn enterè ni pou nou vin domine pèp ayisyen an, ni pou nou mete men sou richès Ayiti.
Nou se yon peyi modès k ap devlope. Sèl sa nou vle, se pou kat teknisyen avyasyon nou yo tounen lakay yo. Epi n ap bay gang yo yon leson, gang sa yo k ap fè pèp ayisyen an soufri, ki touye moun pèp la renmen yo, k ap anpeche l viv yon lavi nòmal, lib, san laperèz.
Nou vin ann Ayiti pou nou goumen kont mechan yo.
Men sa m ap mande nou: fè nou konfyans, lapriyè sèl vrè Bondye a, epi mande L pou L geri Ayiti.
“Lè sa a si pèp ki pote non m lan lapriyè nan pye m, si yo soumèt devan mwen, si yo pran chache m ankò, si yo vire do bay vye peche yo t'ap fè yo, m'ap tande yo nan syèl kote m ye a, m'ap padonnen peche yo, m'ap fè peyi a kanpe ankò.”
2 Kwonik 7:14
Ede nou ede Ayiti.
Epi lè misyon nou an fini, n ap tounen lakay nou. Petèt jenerasyon Ayisyen k ap vini yo ap sonje nou kòm zanmi ki te vin ede yon lè.

BREAKING: I just introduced a discharge petition to force a vote on extending TPS for Haiti.
Our Haitian neighbors deserve to continue their essential work & contributions to our communities.
And if Donald Trump won’t act to protect Haitian lives, then Congress must.

MARIJÀN te resevwa envitasyon kòm òganizasyon obsèvatè pou Karayib la. Mwen pèsonèlman ekri ULCC epi fè 2 relans pou mande si Ayiti ap patisipe, ki aktivite yo pral fè, ak ki wòl Ayiti ka jwe nan negosyasyon yo. 👀

Today, we published the first of 4 stories in my Haiti’s Lost Generation investigation on the rape of women & girls. The first story is in both English & French. Why? Because we need to understand how this gang violence is impacting those most vulnerable. miamiherald.com/news/nation-…
