His child Aniket Ambhore died in 2014 in IITB. After 12 years, the campus remains just as unsafe for students from marginalised backgrounds.
The failure to tackle campus casteism is a deliberate choice. And the admin should be held to account for this failure.
This is Aniket father yesterday- in solidarity with Sahil Wakode's parents protesting the deaths of their son exactlty 1 month earlier, at IT Bombay
12 years ago - Aniket Ambhore's parents also lost their son at IT Bombay. Aniket was also a dalit student who had died by suicide at IIT bombay at least 12 years ago, in 2014.

Violent crackdown on Ambedkarite & anticaste activists today at IIT Bombay is shocking.
50+ students have died on IIT campuses. A student's parents are on a hunger strike for justice against a prof who didnt follow establish protocol. Instead of working transparently & introspecting its casteist culture-- IIT Bombay & Police detained activists & protestors violently & hassled the parents.
When institutions become more important than students. When people dont ask what is structurally wrong & instead caste-shame a dead student & his grieving parents-- you know you are in a morally dead society. No high-fancy rhetoric can rebrand or rescue it.

Rohith Vemula. Payal Tadvi. Countless names never learnt. Invisibilisation of institutional violence against students from Dalit and other oppressed sections is caste consciousness. Deaths, an occasional mention; the struggle of justice, ignored. #CasteViolence #DalitLivesMatter

Dalit students studying abroad hope to escape oppressive caste hierarchies, only to find that the dominant-caste diaspora has exported its prejudice into classrooms and social settings across borders.

Solidarity with Ankita's parents. They must not be silenced. Once again a sexual abuser linked to a murder cases is being rewarded by BJP!

Ankita Bhandari was murdered solely to satisfy the lust of an elderly, depraved politician.
Is the BJP govt. is shielding the primary culprit responsible for her death?

A few days ago, @abhijeet_dipke was showering praise on Mumbai Police and calling it the best police force. The same police has now detained @deepali_writes, @Sonpimplerahul and every single protester at @iitbombay demanding justice for Sahil Wakode.

Sorry to be that person, but this type of violence by the Delhi police is very much precedented. You were just not paying attention. Remember, they shot at students in Jamia. They entered the library and attacked students.

Revolution is not “aura” photos - revolution is putting your own grief on hold to fight for the dismantling of an oppressive system.
Sahil Wakode’s parents are revolutionaries and they are fighting to make IITB accountable for casteism.
