Replying to @fraser_drops
This is why @mogsie believes in deriving UI from "actions" ("output" for traditional FSMs) instead of the structure itself

Use-case coverage is far more important than code coverage. You can have 100% code coverage and still have your app break in prod. Use cases can be encoded in end-to-end (E2E) tests, which will produce tests that are as close as possible to how an app will actually be used ✅

Every so often there will be a burst of Twitter conversations on the “Reverse Conway Manoeuver” and related topics. I find this encouraging, but not for a reason you might suspect. Hear me out; this is important. 1/28

slowly seeing that a big source of confusion around REST APIs is the lack of discussion around the necessity of a hypermedia client: we talk about the API, hypermedia controls, etc. but don't talk about how the client should work

1/45 (yes, 45…). Last week, I gave a speech at the Society of Editors. There's been some interest in it so, if you'll indulge me, I thought I'd post it here. I was asked to talk on ‘future of news’. Once I’d cleared up that I definitely don’t know that, I launched in…

Many developers severely underestimate the complexity involved with microservices. While there are many books/articles about the topic, they often miss sharing intuition about the huge level of complexity involved. Will try to share my understanding in this thread...

Conway's law is valid within a team as well. "If we have a 5 person team, and we give each one a different task to work on, we are creating 5 different 1-person teams. If we have a problem with our team's output, it might be useful to become a 5-person team." #conwayslaw

People often think that distributed systems is about knowing things like PAXOS, fancy commutative operations, clock synchronization and the like but in reality what in your opinion is building and running distributed systems successfully actually about?
