Transitioning out of uniform is one of the hardest missions many of us will ever face. When I took off the uniform for the last time, I’ll be honest..I didn’t know which end was up. I had no idea where my life was going, and if I’m being completely real with you, I didn’t even want to be a civilian. The transition was tough, confusing, and full of friction. Then I realized something that changed my entire trajectory...veterans needed a voice. I saw real problems, and I wanted to be part of the solution. But back in the beginning? Forgive my language, but I started out almost like an asshole. I didn't know the civilian "rules of engagement," so to speak. I saw a fight that needed fighting and charged in headfirst, not realizing that volume and force aren't always the best way to make a real impact. For many years, I came across the wrong way to a lot of people. It took time, mistakes, and hard earned lessons to finally realize what mattered...all I had to do was show up with heart and be a true voice for the veteran community. I am so deeply proud and grateful to be where I am today. Over time, through the work and showing up day in and day out, I have earned the trust and respect of my fellow veterans. Having the veteran community trust in me to stand up for them and fight through whatever challenges or problems they may face is a privilege I will never take for granted. If you’re out there right now feeling lost or like you don’t fit into the civilian world, don't give up. The transition is a journey, and finding your footing takes time. You might stumble along the way, but your purpose is still out there. Keep pushing forward until you find your next mission. Your voice matters, your brothers and sisters need you, and the fight is always worth it. 🇺🇸💪

I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) at 21 years old. After I gave birth in my 30’s, I had the same thoughts people are using to excuse Lindsay Clancy. I saw myself throwing my son down the basement stairs. I saw myself throwing him from a moving car. I heard voices. I tried to kill myself twice. I told my husband. I made the choice and refused to be left alone with my son until I was stable. I did not have her doctors or her money. I still knew what I was thinking. I still CHOSE not to do it. Those thoughts do not appear, get obeyed, and then vanish. That is a cop-out. I took all the medications they keep trying to excuse her with. I was not well. I was still responsible. I CHOSE to ensure my son was safe until I was ok again. You will never convince me otherwise, She killed those children. IF a voice was there, she made the CHOICE to listen. That is not illness doing the killing. That is a decision. And now the jury is deadlocked. Nine women and three men. They were not sequestered. They were just told “don’t look at the news” and sent home. Several showed up in pink, the same color her supporters wear outside court. That is flat out unacceptable. Three babies were strangled. This should not be a club. She deserves the full weight of the law. Were it up to me, that would be public execution.

I want to clarify something. Muslims, doing Muslim shit in Muslimland, is their business and I really dont give a shit if they destroy their own people. It is HERE - in our nation under the God of Abraham - that they do not belong. They simply cannot assimilate and forgo their jihadist mindset. They have proven that. They hold a deeply entrenched hatred of Jews, Christians and in fact anyone, who does not agree with their hatred driven lives. Theirs, is no religion. It is utter homicidal insanity. They have shown us their intent. It could not be more clear. And, since our country was Divinely blessed, I for one, will take as many of its enemies with me as I can, if they ever come for me or mine. In God's name.

xitter.cf/i/status/2051097640356… Let's get this some noise y'all. Our veterans deserve so much better. HR 438 aims to strengthen protections of the Joseph P Dwyer Act. I know many that don't want anything to do with the VA as all they tend to do is push pills. @TheRobbCarter

This goes on all over government by contractors. RFP's must contain verbiage to protect against this to insure accessibility and support at a set price.
For 20 years, a $6 knob that takes one hour to 3D print has been grounding Black Hawk helicopters four times a month, and the contractor responsible won't sell us the part or the IP rights to fix it ourselves. So instead, American taxpayers have been paying $40,000 every single time to replace the entire system, multiplied by four times a month, for two decades. That is NOT a procurement problem, that is a shakedown, and it is exactly why right to repair has to be in this year's NDAA.

Maybe a little prodding by getting vets together outside the VSA to demand answers. Someone should be held accountable for treating a vet like this. Time to make some noise.
I think this veteran deserves to get answers! Especially after finding out the lies already told that are hurting his life..his mental state and his progress in life!

House Committee on Veterans Affairs, @realDonaldTrump @bostforcongress @congress I am writing to respectfully urge the Committee to consider a structural refinement to the H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act that is essential to its successful passage and long-term implementation. The challenge facing this legislation is not a lack of support for peer-to-peer suicide prevention, nor questions about the effectiveness of the Dwyer model itself. The primary impediment is the current policy environment surrounding federal health care oversight. H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act's core strength, non-clinical, trust-based peer support delivered in the community is precisely what struggles to advance when programs are tethered to federal health systems... xitter.cf/5Gables/status/2012601… I appreciate the Committee’s continued leadership on behalf of Veterans and respectfully urge you to consider this structural approach to ensure that H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. House Committee on Veterans Affairs, @HouseVetAffairs I am writing to respectfully urge the Committee to consider a structural refinement to the H.R. Ongoing litigation over health care funding conditions has absorbed significant leadership capacity across HHS, CMS and the Department of Justice, placing federal agencies in a defensive posture that has slowed evaluation, coordination and expansion of non-clinical mental health initiatives. Veteran mental health innovation has become an unintended casualty of this broader conflict. H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act's core strength, non-clinical, trust-based peer support delivered in the community is precisely what struggles to advance when programs are tethered to federal health systems that are overwhelmed by regulatory and legal demands. As long as implementation is perceived to depend on VA or federal health agency coordination, the bill remains vulnerable to delay, risk aversion and administrative inertia that have nothing to do with Veterans’ needs. To address this, I respectfully recommend that the Committee advance H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act through a structurally insulated model: - The program would be funded by a dedicated federal appropriation outside the VA and federal health agencies - Funds would be distributed to states as block grants based on Veteran population and related risk indicators - States would allocate funding to counties, which would administer the program through their County Veterans Service Agencies - Each county would designate a local nonprofit organization to implement the peer support model, consistent with the proven Monroe County framework This structure accomplishes several critical objectives. It removes H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act from contested federal health care regulatory domains, shields implementation from ongoing litigation and allows Veteran suicide prevention efforts to proceed expeditiously. At the same time, it preserves accountability through formula-based funding, transparent reporting and congressional oversight, while empowering local agencies who are already trusted by Veterans. Importantly, this approach does not diminish the role or importance of the VA. Rather it complements VA clinical care by strengthening the non-clinical, community-based support network that often serves as the first point of engagement for Veterans in distress. By relieving pressure on overextended health systems, H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act Enhances rather than competes with existing care. Veterans cannot afford to wait for the broader health policy landscape to stabilize before receiving lifesaving support. A federally funded state block grant model that’s county administered and nonprofit implemented allows Congress to act decisively, demonstrate functional governance and advance a proven Veteran suicide prevention model without delay. I appreciate the Committee’s continued leadership on behalf of Veterans and respectfully urge you to consider this structural approach to ensure that H.R. 438 PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act can move forward toward prompt passage.
