LiveKit is the platform developers use to build voice AI agents, the infrastructure behind OpenAI, xAI, Salesforce, and Spotify. I'm building out DevRel and want someone running events and community in person, starting in the Bay Area.
The work is part events, part content. You'd host and attend meetups, hackathons, and workshops, speak at conferences, and turn each one into recaps, demos, and tutorials that reach the people who weren't in the room. You'd also bring what developers are telling you back into product and strategy.
What I'm after:
→ A few years in DevRel with events experience
→ A hands-on technical background, comfortable writing a code sample and running a live demo
→ Based in the SF Bay Area and happy being outward-facing
→ Genuinely curious about what developers are building

The fight over whether AI creates jobs or destroys jobs misses the point.
AI does not take your job from the top. It takes it from the bottom.
That is the read from @dsa , founder and CEO of @livekit , the infrastructure powering voice AI for Tesla and xAI. He has raised over $180M from Index, Altimeter, and Redpoint.
His point: AI eats the entry level first. The undifferentiated, repeatable work. The exact rung most people use to climb into a career.
He is watching it at home. His wife's younger siblings just graduated into one of the hardest entry level markets in years.
So what actually protects you?
Not your resume. When Russ hires, he ignores the Y intercept and bets on the slope. One of his best engineers joined LiveKit at 17, knew almost nothing, and had relentless agency.
What AI does not commoditize is judgment, taste, reputation, and relationships. LLMs have no emotion. They can do the work. They cannot be the person other people trust.
So the move is not to outrun AI. It is to climb above the rung it is automating before it gets there.
Get your foot in the door. Build the judgment and the relationships now. Stay more useful than the version of you that just got automated.
