We need a national initiative to explain to the British public how pensions work. So many old people seem to believe that all their National Insurance contributions over the years went into a little personalised money pot in the bank with their name on it.

"Heathcliff is sacrificing victims to feed Catherine's vengeful ghost, hoping to give her soul a new body." hello????? we thrive????
Here’s a reimagining you didn’t know you needed. Or maybe still don’t. 'WUTHERING HEIGHTS: THE HOUSE OF THE DAMNED' transforms Emily Brontë’s classic into a ghost story filled with bloodlust, human sacrifice and stolen bodies: [link]

my mom once showed me the house my parents bought for 70k fresh out of school. she was like “okay but you have to understand we were only making 70k per year combined!” i was like “you’re telling me you bought a house for the same amount as your joint annual income at age 25?”
pov: your boomer parents bought their house in 1980

I currently work for a UK based startup. Not having an office means we have more budget for stuff that matters. Plus remote work allows us to recruit across the country, which is much fairer than London-only. Frankly this is a dumb policy. It is anti business & anti growth.
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance "People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense. They're more productive being with other fellow human beings"
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Nigel Farage employed his wife who worked from home. telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/… Reform UK also employ people who work from home. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

went to a murder mystery dinner! very stress inducing lol I became a suspect due to false rumours and and did not expect to have to defend myself in front of 20 strangers. So that was A Lot. In the end I didn't even get the murderer right as I spent 5 hours on defense. Ahhhhh

Plans to leave refugees in a state of perpetual uncertainty about where and if they can rebuild their lives are not just performative cruelty, they are counterproductive to integration and the economy. It doesn’t have to be like this - there is a better way forward rooted in Labour values that also ensures control at our borders. That’s why I will be a voice for common sense and compassion on asylum. My article for the guardian here: theguardian.com/commentisfre… #trueLabour

Feels like a dark joke that 88% of council housing sold off under Right to Buy now resides with private landlords.
Since 1980 almost £200 billion of council housing has been sold off under Right to Buy. £176 billion of that now sits in the hands of private landlords. It’s time to stop the leak. Scrap Right to Buy!

○ buying books because you love reading ○ buying books to support artists ◉ buying books to feel something, then hoarding them like a dragon guarding its unread treasure.

For the vast majority of people (except Ukrainians and Hongkongers) there is NO WAY to claim asylum in the UK without coming by small boat The only way to stop people making dangerous boat crossings to the UK is by creating safe and managed routes Govt's plan is delusional
