If you want honest advice on your outfit, ask the gays. If you want honest advice on your ex, ask the girls. If you want unsolicited advice on something you literally specialize in, tell a man that you’re busy working on something

I did none of it. No law review. No moot court. No clinics. No student organizations. Nothing.
Why? Because I was working full-time during law school (at the law firm I now own!) while also paying my way through law school.
Was it the traditional law school experience? Nope. Would I do it differently? Not for a second. Zero regrets.

I can’t describe what it’s like to go through 3 years of law school, bar registration and character and fitness, $3000 bar prep course, $750 registration fee, $150 tech fee, 6-8 hour days of studying, drive 2 hours just for them to play in your face and cancel the exam. UNREAL.

To everyone taking the #barexam tomorrow: there is nothing on this exam you don’t already know. You know how to fly this plane through the dogfight. Don’t freeze and abandon your confidence. Most importantly, come home whole—the next 2 days do not take away from what you’ve already earned

If you are studying for the bar, feel free to DM me. I have a TON of resources that I have collected. I failed Feb 24 and passed July 25 in a UBE jx with >266. People have shared with me and I just want to pass it back.

Congrats to all the grads!! If you’re curious about law school—reminder that it really doesn’t matter what you studied in college. I double majored in economics and political science, with a minor in dance

Being a lawyer is just getting reached out to by a distant family member, friend or acquaintance with some variation of “Wow! You are so blessed with a beautiful family! Can I get some legal advice?” over and over again until you die.

Nothing more untrue than the idea that ppl who do my job like to argue. Every atty I know spends her time wishing everybody else would just shut the fuck up. Transactional lawyers have made a deliberate choice to *avoid* arguing as much as possible. Litigators are impatient.

My favourite way of saying “we’re on it” or “we’ll take care of that for you” is the Dutch we zullen dat varkentje wel even wassen. It means “we will certainly get that piglet washed.”

Driverless cars coming to Baltimore: “Can they adjust to local customs? How will they react when an Acura with an expired Virginia license plate speeds past them on Interstate 83? When it snows, will they forget how to drive, like most Marylanders?”

It’s been 2 weeks since USDA put out a plan to fortify the beef industry and strengthen ranching and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association has not had any response. What exactly do they do there? @BeefUSA

From an ag lawyer perspective, I've always tried to focus on producers as clients, rather than do big policy analysis. But, man, there just aren't many (paying) clients for someone looking to do production-ag business work for farmers.
