I support @Strategy’s position urging MSCI to keep Digital Asset Treasury companies eligible in global indexes.
Neutral, market-reflective standards matter. Let innovation compete.

The Inaugural Bitcoin Treasuries Unconference xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1YqGolPrn…
This is actually a very good explanation to grasp the concept of $MSTR
It’s this simple:
Strategy’s business model is to sell you Bitcoin’s CAGR. They do this not by selling Bitcoin, but by holding Bitcoin indefinitely and selling it to you via the common stock $MSTR.
The preferred stocks are purely an additional investment vehicle like a company selling debt that is then used to pay for their business expenses and operation. They sell the debt to the market and convert the proceeds to more Bitcoin that is then sold to the market via the common stock.
You can talk all about the liabilities and who’s paying who but it doesn’t matter. The product is Bitcoin’s CAGR sold to you via the common stock. This is entirely different than every other business model that exists or has existed before. There is no need for “cash flow” or “holding cash to pay the liabilities in the future”. They cover the liabilities by selling the ATM instantly in the market
If you don’t agree with this or want to have a mental breakdown over the operation then don’t buy the stock
This is a disagreement between what the product is being sold to the market. Are we selling the machinery (Bitcoin) to fund liabilities or are we selling the output of the machinery ($MSTR common stock)
This is fiat framing vs Bitcoin framing
Nothing more nothing less
Getting this POV out for more to see and create a constructive discussion for the big brains.
$MSTR is indeed misunderstood and undervalued.
And, with respect, the messaging yesterday from @Strategy @saylor and Phong Le did not help.
There is a major distinction between FASB gains and BTC $ Gain, which was not properly explained last night or in the quarterly slide deck.
The new FASB rules treat gains/losses on BTC as income. But this phantom FASB income is no different for MSTR than it is for $IBIT or the other BTC ETFs. Everyone rightfully understands that holding companies like IBIT should trade at exactly 1X mNAV. FASB gains do not warrant a multiple for MSTR anymore than they do for IBIT, and they don't.
This should not be controversial. MSTR said the same thing yesterday. In the slide copied here, MSTR correctly explains how BTCTCs should be valued:
BTCTC Value = BTC NAV + (BTC $ Gain * Multiple)
FASB "income" is included in BTC NAV. So, MSTR correctly acknowledged that the phantom FASB income should not get valued at a multiple.
MSTR went on to correctly use S&P P/E ratios as the means of determining the fair multiple.
All good so far, but this is where it goes off the rails.
Instead of using BTC $ Gain as net income to calculate the EPS used to determine the P/E ratio, MSTR confusingly and contradictorily used the phantom FASB income.
This is not an insignificant distinction. This is one of the most crucial pieces to MSTR valuation and it must not be conflated like this.
MSTR must make it clear that for BTCTCs:
1. BTC $ Gain is equivalent to Net Income
2. BTC $ Gain/share is equivalent to EPS
P/E ratios for BTCTCs can only be computed that way - otherwise they are meaningless. Computing them based on phantom FASB income as MSTR did yesterday means that IBIT should also trade at a multiple, and we know that is wrong.
To be clear, this constructive criticism is exclusively related to the messaging on valuation. Operationally, MSTR's Q2 was phenomenal. I am more bullish on MSTR now than ever.
But when the divergence between fair value and market value is so great, the messaging on this critical issue must be crystal clear.
I am open to debating counterarguments. Please convince me I'm wrong; otherwise I will be stuck belaboring this point until it is widely understood.

The 3,5,7 mNAV prices have a clear trajectory, and Metaplanet's ( $MTPLF ) stock price tends to stay in this range. Updated chart, still log scale.
Your logic is flawed. Say $MSTR and all the other ETF have 6% of all Bitcoin, that means there are 94% out there held by everyone else. How is that centralized?
