IDH-mutant gliomas often progress slowly, but inevitably recur and progress. Are there spatial organizing principles at the level of cell states that repeat across tumours during stages of tumour progression?
cell.com/cancer-cell/fulltex…
Out this week in @Cancer_Cell, our work with @RouvenHoefflin, @TiroshLab, @MarioSuva, @GaliliNoam, and Christopher Mount quantitatively maps two independent axes of tumour organization, revealing how they emerge at different stages of progression and in distinct tissue contexts. We hope that understanding these recurring spatial patterns and associations will reveal new opportunities to halt tumour progression.

We found a surprisingly large technical artifact hiding in a widely-used scRNA-seq technology.
In all Flex v1 datasets we’ve analyzed, we see hundreds of DE genes between probe set barcodes.
More on why this matters and what to do about it below:

This elegant paper from Alex Raven + @owen_sansom at the @CRUKScotland shows that zonation in the liver is an important determinant of cancer development. I'm looking forward to seeing more research exploring how cell location influences tumorigenesis. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Excited to share our new work on self-organized zonation in the intestine!
Enterocytes have location-dependent functions along the crypt-villus axis. How do cells "know" their position? Three possibilities: external signals, internal programs, or local cell communication. 1/6

Our paper describing a new method (FLiP-MS) for the global profiling of protein complex dynamics is out @NatureBiotech !
Read here👉: doi.org/10.1038/s41587-024-0…
🔬 Highlights:
- Uses an experimental library of peptide markers integrated with a structural proteomics workflow.
- Probes the assembly state of hundreds of protein complexes simultaneously across conditions directly from whole cell extracts, informing on binding interface occupancy.
- Supports the structural modelling of protein complexes and the design of compounds targeting them
Congratulations to shared first authors @CathyMarulli and Christian Dörig and thanks to our collaborators @LabBarral and @TorstenSchwede lab
