CANADA POST IS NOT A BUSINESS, IT IS A PUBLIC SERVICE. Way too many grown ass adults somehow don’t understand this. Anyhow, solidarity to the workers.

As a paramedic in B.C., I could almost never find treatment providers with capacity to accept patients who WANTED to be in treatment. This is stupid political grandstanding which will worsen the crisis. David Eby is a gutless coward.
B.C. will force severely addicted and mentally ill people into involuntary care: Eby vancouversun.com/news/bc-wil…

Fort McMurray was too high a price to pay. In dollars, $9B. Jasper, a literal national treasure, is a rich history that we can not replace - but we may yet find out the price to try. Enough is enough. Stop voting for governments that aren’t taking serious action on climate.

In 1968 Finland banned for profit Education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents. It has been in the Top 3 in Education for the last 20 years. There should be no profit in Education or Healthcare.

Hey #PEI peeps - lots of chat about shopping local this month, so how about a shared resource for local vendors and producers to help us all make good, affordable choices? Add your favourites and share widely! docs.google.com/document/d/1…

Our doctors are a limited resource. This is a waste of their time. What to do about absences is a business/gov problem, not a doctor problem. @dennyking, you're wasting their time. #peipoli #thesystemisbroken
Thank you, @CanadianKayMD, for your work trying to save patients' time and preserve healthcare resources by speaking out against this complete waste of time, effort, and money. Doctors are not the absenteeism police @CAEP_Docs @OntariosDoctors @CMA_Docs

FROM REPORTERS WITHOUT BORDERS: Canada: RSF warns of dangerous precedent in charges against journalist Brandi Morin “It is bad enough that police arrested a journalist for doing her job, but it is outrageous that prosecutors would even consider pursuing the charges against Brandi Morin. These tactics are meant to intimidate independent reporters and this case is tantamount to criminalizing journalism. It will set a dangerous precedent for a country that otherwise ranks high globally on the RSF World Press Freedom Index.” Clayton Weimers RSF USA Executive Director rsf.org/en/canada-rsf-warns-… – at Stony Plain, Alberta

.@JustinTrudeau: This is the erosion, not just of quality local journalism at a time when people need it more than ever, given misinformation and disinformation, but it’s eroding our very democracy. Me, having practiced for this moment in front of the mirror over 35 years:
PMJT just went off on Bell, saying it was a “garbage decision from a corperation that should know better" to layoff journalists and other workers. “I’m pretty pissed off about what's just happened” #cdnpoli

I totally understand Doug Ford’s frustration. I mean if I pulled the carpet out from under eleven small business owners and their staff to give their livelihoods away to a big American company I’d be frustrated too if people kept asking me to explain my inexplicable decision.

Very good read. PEI nurses speak truth to power. The system is crumbling and @dennyking and @markmclanepei have no clothes. For god sake, get the politics out of health care.

When I consider the sudden & overwhelming loss across the globe, marred by violent injustice: I consider the agony of so many survivors living in a ghost world, unfinished stories, & even joyful memories now punctured by an unjust end. We grieve what should’ve been & cannot be.

Went out for a seven hour boat ride to the Athabasca River from Fort Chipewyan with Dene trapper/hunter/fisherman Jason Short. He’s been navigating this river system for nearly 20 years. He says what he sees on the water is not normal. The Alberta oilsands are just upstream from Fort Chip. Tailings have been dumped into this river recently & community members have been concerned about being poisoned through the water for years. This is what we saw today @ricochet_en @IndigiNewsMedia @TheRealNews
