LegalTech tools, including document automation, expert systems, hybrid rules-conversational systems, and generative AI systems can help increase access to legal services for individuals and self-represented litigants. Great work, @odonnell4judge, taking this on! Lots of judges, legal aid organizations, law schools, and others working on #A2J solutions. We need to work together to build the body of knowledge for designing, developing, and deploying LegalTech tools. We need more after action reviews, collecting information about what works, what doesn't work, what new things we should try, and what challenges we will confront in the future. We also need more evidence-based research. As we accelerate the doing, let's also accelerate the learning from our "experiments"! Looking forward to talking about evaluation, a quality movement in law, and my work with @SabineBrunswick using RCTs to evaluate chatbots and further developing the cognitive and social capabilities of conversational AI systems at the @LSCtweets Innovations in Technology Conference in February 2024! #AI4Legal #A2J

I’m trying to create a GPT to help people surrender their firearms. So many pro se litigants could use help. Work in progress!

I see all the "X law school is hiring!" and no open positions in innovation, technology, law as a business . . . FWIW, these courses at our school are full, with full waiting lists. Students want them.
