Help! I need to find Bryan Kolaczkowski, the evolutionary biologist and master of Ancestral Protein reconstruction. He is a co-author of a paper we are about to submit, and we can't find him! He was at University of Florida, and now is...???? Please RT!
I’d like to say professors like this are the reason I left academia, but they’re not. They’re the reason I stayed too long. (1/4)
Those like @timgill924 are trying to prove something, yet can only be recognized by tweeting about how hard they work. If you’re talented, passionate, and have good ideas, there’s no need to work around the clock. (3/4)
While mid-postdoc at Harvard, with fellowships and huge support from all of my mentors, I left. I left to be close to my family and because I need more of a social setting with a team oriented environment. I had to learn that I have nothing to prove to the Tims of the world (2/4)

Preprints are great... in theory. They get science out fast and without paywalls. But what good is a free archive of all scientific knowledge without journals to tell you which papers are worth your time, and without impact factors to tell you who to hire?

Excited to share the results from a fantastic collaboration with the @Moazed_Lab! This exciting work helps to show how Polycomb and the rixosome work together to silence genes through degradation of nascent RNA. Congrats to all authors, especially to Haining! @AdelmanLab
#ChromatinHaiku as preprint, now published!

Getting really excited about a steam mop on sale at target at 8AM on a Saturday…Is this bc I've finally finished school and got a real job? What is happening
Such a great professor an scientist. Lucky to have been taught by him.
Deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Mario Amzel, a brilliant Argentine crystallographer who spent most of his career at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. We will always remember him with respect, admiration and gratitude!

I just quietly restocked some Diet Coke in the lab fridge and then went onto Instagram and got multiple ads for Diet Coke. The devil works hard, but my FBI guy works harder

Making the cut ✂️
Ribosomal collisions matter also in bacteria! Collided disomes recruit SmrB, which comes to the rescue by cleaving the mRNA. Happy collaboration with the amazing @GreenLabJHMI and Allen Buskirk!
Preprint is out on @biorxivpreprint now! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Turns out collisions are important in bacteria too!!

As scary as the climate reality is, we're not helpless. For our communities, our kids, and our grandkids, we cannot be hopeless.

Our NMD paper is out on biorxiv today! The data suggest that ribosomes in the 3'UTR of an NMD target disrupts NMD. Excited to hear thoughts on this. @GreenLabJHMI @drgrantwbrown @lalanev11 @anthonyveltri @miguelpach95
