Brain cancers take advantage of neural circuit activity. Re-purposing an anti-seizure med called levetiracetam disrupts an important neuron-cancer interaction in #DMG #DIPG, slowing growth and extending survival in mice and retrospective patient data.

It went on to become the best-selling jazz single of the 20th century.
BindCraft2 from the @MartinPacesa lab is here and available now on Ariax!
We called BindCraft a “DeepSeek moment” in protein design. BC2 builds on that proven foundation with major speed improvements and a much broader range of therapeutic formats.

The best part: we will actually synthesize 1000 of those protein designs in the lab and test their real world function as a therapeutic.

And at @SylvesterCancer @umiamimedicine, Zheng Chen, Alejandro Villarino, Yan Guo, @PeterHoseinMD, & Oliver McDonald will study an enzyme that they believe may drive tumor growth and immune suppression in gastric cancers & could be a therapeutic target.

Yesterday a Nobel prize was given for alpha fold. Alpha fold could not exist without the Protein Data Bank (PDB), a public database funded by US taxpayers. Every structural biologist in the world that deposited their structure to the PDB indirectly helped train alpha fold.

Proteins with similar sequences would be expected to have similar structures. But sometimes seemingly minor sequence changes can lead to big structural changes.
