Y’all, I have a favor to ask. This young writer is a phenomenal person, and I’ve been a tireless advocate in making sure she doesn’t give up. Now, her therapy/PTSD dog will be put down TOMORROW if we don’t raise funds. YOU DONATE? You get a query/1 page critique. Please RT 💔

I love this so much. While there can be terrible things that happen to your protagonist, it’s always better to see the ones they love fight with him instead of against them. Abusive partners aren’t fun, funny, relatable or exciting. I don’t see the point in writing such things.

Beta-readers. My beta-readers are amazing and I am forever grateful for them.

Greater control over my emotions. I've learned to rationalise my feelings, consciously stop comparing myself to others, feel happy for other people's success even when I'm still preparing to shoot my shot, & to create only for the love of writing, w/t obsessing w/ the outcome.

Okay real talk
One of my 1st beta readers hated my #WIP because my male MC was “too soft”
Well, sir:
1. Men can be afraid
2. Men can show weakness
3. Men can cry without justification
4. Men can depend on women
5. Men can admire other men
5. Men can be soft
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pardon me for saying so #writingcommunity, but the hypothetical questions and “reply with a gif” posts don’t help me get to know you. I’d love to hear more about your #writing. Your struggles, your successes. Random musings from your day. Personally, those are my favorite.
