What comes with membership: point soundings, broader time ranges for radar/satellite maps, reflectivity & velocity 2-panel, upper air temps & RH, and environment searches on parameters such as 3CAPE and lapse rates, all for the price of a coffee a month. Many, many more features to come as we develop the most comprehensive historical weather case data platform on the web. chasearchive.com/pricing

Connecticut's new largest diameter hailstone came from this long track supercell. Brett Castro had a pretty spectacular view as the storm approached the TSP early in its life. Chaser media and event reanalysis data can be found on @chase_archive (app.chasearchive.com/case/db…)
🚨 It's a record! The NWS has confirmed this hailstone in Terryville from the 7/4 set a record as the largest hailstone (by diameter) observed in Connecticut at 3.5"! Thanks to Billy Johnpiere for grabbing the stone, freezing it and reaching out to us. tinyurl.com/4xxv8x4s

Doing a little late-night nerding out on @chase_archive tonight...check out these interesting trends in tornado distribution based on 0-1 km storm-relative helicity (SRH). Note the clear westward bias toward the High Plains for cases with minimal 0-1 km SRH (< 50 m2/s2), whereas cases with strong 0-1 km SRH (> 300 m2/s2) are focused much farther east across the Plains, Midwest, and Southeast. I was able to make these maps using Chase Archive's robust advanced search feature, via which you can filter cases based on thermodynamic and kinematic variables, like CAPE, SRH, and lots more to be added in the near future. You can do some digging like this and so much more on Chase Archive, and they have some big things planned for release in the coming few days. If you're not using Chase Archive, you need to be!

We have added local ⭐️ NEXRAD RADAR ⭐️ to the Archive! For priority cases, just zoom in on the map in the "Radar & Sat" tab and the view will automatically transition from an MRMS to a NEXRAD view. No selecting times, you just zoom in to get the radar image. BTW, you can also lock in either the MRMS or the NEXRAD view on the bottom where it says "Detail" (Auto/Low/High).

We have added OBSERVED soundings for ALL US cases to 1950! In the soundings tab click "Obs" on the upper-left to select a RAOB from that day. Note that data quality and vertical resolution prior to ~1990 is somewhat sketchy. (Pictured: the 0Z OUN RAOB from 4/26/91, and the 18Z OUN RAOB from 5/3/99)
