Absolutely remarkable study done by my colleague and friend @NordmannThierry. The layers of evidence, ranging from proteomics to in vitro models, in vivo models, and human patients, are admirable.
Published today! Spatial proteomics reveals JAK/STAT as a target for Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, an often fatal skin reaction to common medication. We validated our findings in pre-clinical models & successfully treated the first patients worldwide.🧵⬇️ nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Theme of this life.
Every once in a while I need to write this disclaimer because some people take this or that joke wrongly: I think that being a scientist is the best job in the world (otherwise I wouldn’t do it). I also think that it’s not easy and that it’s ok to laugh about it.

I would choose #HeartAttackVaccine as @TheBHF's #BigBeatChallenge winner! Which would you pick?

But the bottom line is that ovarian cancer research is underfunded. We also need more awareness of symptoms because early detection improves prognosis dramatically.

Conspiracists of all denominations have zoomed in on the Covid-19 origin debate. It is not coincidental. As doomsday cults pass their premeditated Armageddon dates, they shift the narrative, to something harder to be proven or disproven, buying time before followers abandon. 1/7
