Offline Protocol SDK v0.29.0 is out! Two Raspberry Pi 4s, a Mac and an Android phone formed a mesh and exchanged end-to-end encrypted messages (MLS) over BLE with no internet connection!
Embedded experiments with the mesh-sdk!👀

Offline Protocol supports physical operations across industries where people, machines and software need to coordinate without internet.
One question we often received was, "Does Offline Protocol work for our industry?" So, we rebuilt the Offline Protocol homepage around a single living panorama, full of real workflows and live customer stories behind it: Airports, warehouses, EV chargers, wind and solar sites, drone fleets, venues, robots, field crews. Our learning from customer interactions is that physical operations don't happen in one app or one network. Ground crews hand off turnarounds. Warehouse systems share task progress. Field teams pull equipment history on site. Drones exchange mission updates. Offline Protocol gives those devices, apps and AI agents one coordination layer: identity, edge sync, encrypted messaging and nearby service calls across whichever local, mesh, gateway or cloud path is available. Less custom integration. Fewer cloud round trips. Faster answers where the work is. Explore our new website at offlineprotocol.com.

How the SIR deletions affect the Bengal election results? Were certain categories of voters targeted and if so, what were the consequences? Does the analysis of Bengal elections suggest any lessons for the forthcoming state elections? Prannoy Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) uses data on SIR deletions and swings in votes to answer these and other questions about the impact of SIR on the Bengal elections. Our parents told us about emergency. We are all seeing it today in Delhi.

It is kind of jarring to have people from my own country shit talk me, circulate screenshots of my posts, and tag the police to arrest me. All because I'm trying to provide a way for people to communicate with each other. No one wanted to delist our app when people used it during multiple flash floods in India this year for emergency response, or during the monsoon cyclones, or during earthquakes and emergencies when nothing else worked, or even during all the concerts and events this year where we helped people find their friends and go home safely. No one tagged ministers to ban us then. Then what is so different about this moment? When the internet is turned off, wherever that might be, people still need to find their families, call for help, and tell someone they're alive. That's all we're trying to provide. If you don't think that's important, that's okay too. I hope you or your loved ones never find themselves helpless and unable to reach each other, because it really sucks. The bot armies and IT cell anonymous accounts don't scare me. I'm not doing this for you.

Communication is a right, not a privilege. But connectivity isn't always guaranteed. Networks go down from natural disasters, censorship, festivals, and in the crucial moments when people come together. During these times, we still need to reach out to each other for support, safety and information. That’s why we built Fernweh: private messaging that works with or without internet or cellular service. We will always stand for your right to stay connected. [Video credits, hi.kundani1ka on IG]

Internet turned off by the government. In the capital city of the world’s largest democracy. This is why we built Fernweh. An encrypted everyday messenger that works without internet so you can reach your peers when you need it most.
Internet services suspended within a 4-km radius in New Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the temporary suspension of internet services. Internet services will remain suspended within a 4-kilometer radius around the Janpath–Kartavya Path crossing. Services will remain suspended from 10 PM on October 9 to 10 PM on October 10. Instructions have been issued to suspend all forms of mobile internet technology.

It feels strange that investors over-index my past credentials, vs. how much growth I've experienced in the last 2 years. What they want me to share: Ex-Mastercard (3 years ago) 2x acquired founder (2 and 6 years ago) Raised $2M for charities in Ukraine (4 years ago) Globally renowned activist (7 years ago) Co-authored research and policy (6-8 years ago) What I want to share: In the last 2 years as Founder of Offline Protocol: - I taught myself to code - built and launched apps - took charge of fundraising - scaled an amazing team - received organic press coverage and shoutouts from people I admire like @jack - helped people stuck in natural disasters get to safety, people at live events find their friends, people in wars find local resources, people in censored regimes find support - built an incredibly supportive community - iterated on hardware experiments and sold out a limited run - led brand partnerships - pushed enterprise sales - ran our social media - took ownership of all our brand and design work - still continue to learn and challenge my ambitions I am so much more today than I was then.

I never wanted to leave @indiatvnews. After I raised concerns about my manager @SurenderGumber over email, what followed felt like retaliation. For nearly 2 months, I wasn’t given a camera unit despite regularly pitching stories & taking updates. I felt professionally sidelined and eventually had to resign. I urge @indiatvnews to review my emails and investigate how @SurenderGumber handled my concerns, and take appropriate action if it finds my grievance justified. No reporter should fear professional consequences for raising a genuine workplace concern. I only wanted to do my job honestly.

To @PiyushPadmakar, I came to you hoping for guidance, believing you would understand a field reporter’s concerns. In the past, I had even shared how challenging it had been for me, as a Muslim woman, to continue building my career after marriage. Instead, that day I walked away feeling publicly humiliated and unheard. As you shouted, “Main busy hoon, baad mein aana,” and asked me to keep my phone away—as though I might be recording you—in front of my colleagues. I had approached you for help, not confrontation. I hope one day you will reflect on this n see how this unfair treatment can almost destroy careers of journalists like me who are honest and dedicated to journalism. #indiatv #news #rajatsharma
