Curious about the design philosophy behind the @NotionHQ CLI, ntn? We don't always follow this 100%, but this is the north star. notion.jclem.net/ntn-design-…

if agents can write code and build new capabilities on their own, what should we actually build for them? ephemeral tasks can be handled by writing and running code locally. but for agents to write their own reusable capabilities and reliably trigger them again and again, deployment, hosting, and credentials management need to be easy! i'll be speaking more about this idea at Vercel Ship this thursday (10/15), come check it out : ) vercel.com/ship

The table behind us had a conversation about how amazing the truffle aioli is and they asked for more. We need a federal ban on truffle oil.
Walked into a restaurant where we had dinner reservations and 180’d due to the overpowering odor of truffles. Went into another restaurant and it also smells like truffle (oil) but not as bad. Cool it on the truffle oil, Utah.

I love Beckett, and this is an excellent take.
Replying to @megievalist
Academia will dissect a Beckett play about nothing for decades, but a live morality play where a man’s soul is judged via a folding chair is apparently too lowbrow for tenure.

Notion runs one of the largest CRDT deployments in production, processing millions of operations every minute! We wrote about the data structures we adopted from CRDT research to make our text editor more collaborative, and how we built on those concepts to fit our block-based data model. notion.com/blog/how-notion-h…

I’m not sure I’m ready to give up my iPhone Air. After the Mini, it’s the best they’ve ever made.

And this is just one of the sides; we have three more we could ship new types of bars for.

We are using CoffeeScript + Nashorn.
We've done some digging and have discovered there are other programming languages and runtimes beyond TypeScript and Node. It has been quite the shocking revelation.

Custom Blocks are extremely cool!
Developers: we’re opening up an early alpha for custom blocks. It’s a new Notion primitive for building interactive blocks that can read your workspaces and databases. Very early, very experimental, and we’d love to learn from what you build with it! 🧵 to be one of our first alpha testers

Some reckless individual told a room full of people at Vercel Ship NYC all about how we built Notion Workers, and now it’s on YouTube! Watch now and you can be part of an exclusive club of 158 people and counting that know the secrets 🕵️‍♂️ youtu.be/weKXGofmlE4

I should nip this in the bud: When I show screenshots or recordings that say "notion-next", that is just the repo name for the *current* Notion app 😆

Notion CLI order of precedence: 1. `$NOTION_HOME` 2. `$XDG_CONFIG_HOME`/`$APPDATA` (depending on OS) 3. `$HOME/.config` 4. `$HOME/.notion`
can we stop polluting `$HOME` everyone? how about we put these clearly configuration files in .... ~/.config 😳

Using libghostty to finally get the terminal I've always wanted (thx @mitchellh). Stacks, splits, named panes and tabs, find, super quick terminal with Ctrl+T...

I already have saved layouts; scripting is next so that I can build my other projects on top of this for organizing agents, etc. I don't need a terminal multiplexer anymore, but the UX that e.g. Zellij provides can't be beat.

Do you have @NotionHQ databases with more than 100K rows? Or complex workflows? We’re cooking up something that might unlock new possibilities for you! Please DM @connors or me for early access!
