We present InverseBench, a framework for benchmarking plug-and-play diffusion approaches for inverse problems in physical sciences. (#ICLR2025 Spotlight)
PnP diffusion approaches are attractive for scientific inverse problems because they offer flexibility in incorporating domain-specific models. We provide comprehensive benchmarking and implementations for five domains (incl. pre-trained diffusion priors), and many diffusion posterior sampling algorithms.
Applications: inverse scattering (microscopy), compressed MRI, black hole imaging (astronomy), full waveform inversion (seismology), and Navier-Stokes super-resolution (fluids). The goal is to infer the underlying image given only sparse and noisy measurements.

NeurIPS acknowledges that the cultural generalization made by the keynote speaker today reinforces implicit biases by making generalisations about Chinese scholars. This is not what NeurIPS stands for. NeurIPS is dedicated to being a safe space for all of us. We want to address the comment made during the invited talk this afternoon, as it is something that NeurIPS does not condone and it doesn't align with our code of conduct. We are addressing this issue with the speaker directly.
NeurIPS is dedicated to being a diverse and inclusive place where everyone is treated equally.

Interested in what goes into a faculty application or interview process? AMA!
Caltech invites faculty applications in the areas of Information, Systems, and Computing, broadly construed.
applications.caltech.edu/job…
Review of applications will begin Nov 12, but full consideration will be given to all candidates who apply by Dec 13.
Caltech is a small school (~300 faculty total) that is dedicated to research excellence. The campus is also beautiful (I took the photos myself -- the last one is the view from my office).

Academic colleagues:
If you’re advocating that postdocs are “trainees”, you should back it up by showing where your former postdocs are now employed. If most are not in academia, then you’ve demonstrated that postdocs are cheap labor that make your life (as PI) easier. The end.

The visuals and news do not completely reflect the real magnitude. It is a huge disaster. 90% crops, livestock, and many lives are lost. People need shelter and food. Please consider donating if you can.
